Hat Contest Winners - Lake Worth Alumni Foundation Fundraiser

Comment Up

To me this is always the most enjoyable of the year...I get to dine in a beautiful setting with wonderful Lake Worth friends. Doris Dorsey and her team ensure a wonderful day for all attendees. Today 150 tickets were sold and the room was packed. I was seated with Mr. & Mrs. Laurence McNamara, Katie McGiveron and Commissioner Ryan Maier, one of the judges. Dollars for Scholars has awarded $970,700 in scholarships for college bound teens to help with a few expenses. This year the organization presented checks to 42 students totaling $67,000.

Wes Blackman I peed my pants all through the event. Glad they were a dark color.

Wes, congrats for attending the Fundraiser...your first time ever as I recall. It's too bad that you mock it and those who do so much for the community and college bound kids who need the money. This foundation does amazing things, volunteering untold amounts of time and always giving back. Your comment on Facebook is about as funny as you are.

This event is such an important event and it takes so much hard work and dedication to make it happen! Wes better not be making fun of it. Good for him and everyone else that cared enough about our kids to show up. I was surprised at how many people were there on a holiday weekend. And I couldn't believe how many men were there. Normally when you hear "hat luncheon" you think women.Good for all of the men, even Wes !

Congratulations and warmest Thank You to Dennis and Doris Dorsey who have worked for many years now on these events to send hundreds of poor Lake Worth kids to college on scholarships. Great hats all around.

Those businesses in the downtown with Atlanta Braves signs in their windows did not contribute to this fundraiser.

I know at the very least that Beth at Callaros bought a ticket so that would mean she did contribute to the fundraiser, Katie.

I know because I saw the ticket. I think her kid(s) went the LWHS, and she may be an alumni. She is proudly welcoming the conversation about the Braves coming back to PB county. She/they may have also donated a raffle/silent auction item, guess that's means your wrong about business supporting a great community event like this scholarship luncheon - businesses recognize that it's not just about work and trying to keep employees employed and make enough to live on, that you have to give back to the community by participating in events all around the city.

End your childish, vicious attacks and boycotts against people who happen to hold a different opinion than you.

If you personally don't like what they support, great, you don't have to visit their establishments. But don't slander people.

You know I'm sure Katie and Lynn are not welcome in many businesses downtown because of their foaming mouths, childish behavior and crazy actions. I say good riddance.

LOL.
So, you don't like the idea that there are people out here who want to save JPP and have decided not to spend their money in those downtown businesses with Atlanta Braves signs. Oh, too bad.

No one has said to boycott businesses. You, on the other hand, are saying that those businesses that want to destroy our county park should boycott Katie and I. And then you personally attack us. Truth hurts and my mouth doesn't have to "foam."

Too funny. Talk about childish and crazy actions.

And one more thing--
Some of those business downtown with Atlanta Braves DID give a donation to the fundraiser.
