Lake Worth Decal Parking

Comment Up
Only 55 spaces down near A1A for
Lake Worth residents who actually pay to maintain
this beach and who are the ones who actually
visit the beach on a regular basis.

A really remarkable commission decision

Where do you park if you have a large motor home? I was wondering where that picture was taken. I dont recogize that area. BTW, Lynn is that your trailer? You were lucky to get that spot to park it. LOL A bit of sunday humor.

At the moment, this area is being used by the contractors, etc. who are building our casino and beach redevelopment. It is situated in the NW corner of our beach near A1A.

Actually, they were probably lucky to have saved that lot. That little piece of .... asphalt won't receive any county money so it's the only place we can save for resident parking... UNLESS... we choose to open up decal parking to all county residents. And then continue to park in any open space at the top. Non-county residents and those who don't purchase decals would pay premium.

The question was, did $5 million in county money for beach improvements outweigh the city decal parking?

I think a lot of residents AND elected officials debated that issue for years and the decision was yes, the $5 million in improvements was worth the trade off.

I don't think it makes sense to judge the outcome at present b/c the improvements were just started, post this again in 6 mos or a year. Maybe your opinion will change, maybe it won't.

Yes, $5 million is a lot of money and there was not one elected official who had the guts to let it go. Instead they gave up control of OUR beach for 30 years.

I will NEVER CHANGE MY MIND on this. Granted, once finished, it will look nice. But we had to give up a heck of a lot of get bushes.

Thanks to the best commission ever!

It is the Maxwell trio that had the final word on this. They could have changed it all. They didn't. Instead, they voted to spend $1.7 million more of YOUR money.
