Today is the official day that Blogger switched to its new interface. There is nothing user friendly about it. Why do people continue to change things that are working well? Did they ask the end user? Now it's not only Blogger that has a problem. Their changes affect millions of people because some web designer had a "better" idea. It's sort of like Lake Worth City Commissions but instead of a team of designers, we have three people affecting the lives of residents and our city. When is the last time you got an answer from one new commissioner on anything? They don't care what you think and neither does Blogger. And since they don't, I'll keep writing about them.

Lynn, didn't we have a significant number of dramatic changes under the Mulvehill--Jennings--Golden majority?
Which do you think will be better for lake Worth in the future--this majority or the one they replaced?
We had some significant changes under the last commission--we saved $4.5 million going back and doing our own RO plant as one example. We went ahead on our Casino rebuild for another.
Time will only tell if this commission will be better but so far they get an F grade. They get an A for being bullies to the first degree. They get an A for not reaching out to all of the people, only listening to those who generally attend commission meetings. They get an A for allowing rude diatribe from the dais as well as the chamber.
Well you are certainly right about the rude and slanderous remarks of Dee and Peter have been stopped.
Aren't most of the $4.5 mil "savings" being revealed as not "net" and being overturned in the courts with respect to the union "savings"?
How do you reach out to people not at the commission meetings? Maybe they think because they were elected they understand the will of the people---after all, they did go door to door.
You might want to make peace with maxwell. After all, he was elected, reelected by running unopposed and seems to have the backing of the NO's. is it possible he may be the most tunned in person on the dais?
Dee no longer comes to meetings. Peter never was rude as far as I can recall. He had a different opinion.
It was a savings of $3.5 mil---that was my typo. Have no clue about comparing apples with oranges. You people do that well enough for everybody so I will leave that to you.
Answer to your statements and questions on Maxwell-
NO AND NO. Maxwell needs to make peace. He's the elected official and the representative in MY District. He could give a rat's ass about what I think or what anyone thinks especially if it differs from his point of view. He's been arbitrary for 2.5 years as well as a bully and rude, constantly goading people from the dais. His solution for anything is to eliminate it. So much for Maxwell. He doesn't represent me, not really.
Unless you represent a significant number of people, isn't it appropriate for Commissioner Maxwell NOT to represent your views?
My view is as important as yours as an example. I am not saying that he has to "represent" my views. He should, however, solicit an opinion and understand what his constituents believe or hold valuable. Also, as I am out here in the public, it would be smart politics to do so. But this is the arrogance that prevails, not only by one commissioner...they all seem to think they have the right answer and now don't even need a strong CEO.
Thank you for directly addressing all my questions and statements.
You certainly are correct that I only represent myself in my posts.
District 1 has always been F**Ked up wouldn't you say?
What happened to that 60 or $70,000emergency study that Mattey required to increase the permitted use on the RO plant from 50%?
Wasn't that represented as "an administrative error" that could easily be corrected in a month?
Well now, I dunno. You seem to have some sort of an answer to some sort of a question from our Utility Director--why not share it? Give some facts and specifics.
I haven't heard anything so I asked to see if anyone was more informed on the topic.
[ Laughs ] In regards to Blogger's new interface, I am not too please with it either.
I was rather curious to find out what my fellow blog writers thought about it. So, I went on Google and researched the question and your blog came up.
Unfortunately Blogger's new interface doesn't work on my BlackBerry smartphone.
The nice thing is: one can go back to their old interface; which is what I did!
I like to write blogs on my smartphone, because I am mostly on the go and I can't do that with the new interface. Thank God for the old interface!
To be on the safe side, Blogger should do surveys asking us (the actual people who use this format) about what we think before making upgrades.
Renard, the old interface will disappear soon. We all will be stuck with this new one. I hate it. Send me yur blog.
[ Polite Laughter ] You are right, Lynn. Blogger did specify that they are going to discontinue using the old interface sometime around the end of the month.
My blog address on Blogger is: renardmoreau.blogspot.com.
On the 26th of April, I opened a blog account with WordPress; the domain address is: renardmoreau.wordpress.com; I imported the entire blog from Blogger.
Thank you for your time and your interest, Lynn.
Renard--Are we the only people who care about Blogger changing something that actually worked well? LOL Wanted to tell you that putting in your old blogger url directs one automatically to wordpress. Let me know how this transistion is working out for you after you have been using it for a while. I'm not going to change anything at this time but I know my work will slow down to the speed of a turtle with the new interface.
[ Smiles ] Lynn, I am enjoying Blogger's old interface while it lasts, because when they choose to discard it, I wouldn't be able to post via my BlackBerry smartphone; I would have to use the PC.
So far, the transition to WordPress is working out lovely. I actually posted my views about it on my blog-page; you could check it out if you like and please keep up the fine job that you are doing.
Hi again--I read your blogs on it and I was not sure if you were that happy with WordPress yet. Down the road, please let me know how long it took you to feel comfortable with WordPress after using blogger for sometime. You can e-mail me at
lynn113@comcast.net.
Thanks, Renard. It might me just me but I do not like change when something is working so well. I just don't like the look or feel of the new interface.
wow , I drove by and it looks good , but it's not finished by any stretch and the construction to this point is the easiest while the next stage is always the hardest to complete . There will be lots of small business bankruptcy , most of the first wave of tenant will flop and then the city will be renting out space at below $10.00 a sq. ft , it will be ugly .
If you read your history , the gulf stream hotel was completed in late 1929 at a cost of $500,000.00 which as you know was big money in those days , and of coarse everybody was sure that the economy would bounce right back , any way it flop and it sold at a bankruptcy auction for $36,000.00 ( 7cts on the dollar) in 1935.
This time around it will not even bring 7 cts on the dollar. LOLLLLLLL
