Discrimination suit for Lake Worth


I remember employers asking me, once they knew I was married, “Do you plan on having children?” My answer was. “Absolutely not…gosh, no.” Back then, you were lucky to get a job as a woman and it was certainly understood that you were going to make a whole lot less than a man. You had to work a lot smarter to even compete, so having children was out of the realm of reality--it was about putting food on your table and living a productive life as an individual, not an appendage of your husband.

A local firefighter now has the right to a jury trial for discrimination she feels occurred back in 2004 when she was pregnant. Although she still made the same pay as she did before, her duties were changed. She didn’t like that and wanted to sue. CLICK HERE FOR POST ARTICLE
