Donald Trump just won this huge Supreme Court case about the 2024 election

Donald Trump is facing legal challenges on every front as he campaigns for re-election.

But Trump scored a significant victory.

A fringe legal theory emerged from the coalition of left-wing scholars to stop Trump from winning the 2024 election by claiming that Section 3 of the 14th Amendment banned him from ever holding office again due to the false claims that he led an insurrection on January 6. He never lead an insurrection and January 6 was NOT an insurrection.

“No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof,” Section 3 of the 14th Amendment reads.

The 14th Amendment was ratified in 1868, following the Civil War, and its Section 3 essentially disqualifies from office anyone who engaged in "insurrection or rebellion" against the U.S. It pertained to the Civil SWar.

There are at least six states considering not placing Trump's name on the ballot for 2024. For people who proclaim they are defending democracy, this is one of the most dangerous, destructive and anti-democratic political games imaginable.
