Atlanta Braves in town

Comment Up

Tom McNicholas the lobbyist for the Braves, was in Lake Worth meeting with Atlanta Braves officials, Mayor Pam Triolo and City Manager Mike Bornstein.

They met downtown Lake Worth at Callaro's Steak House on Lake Avenue, the preferred spot for city officials. The owners are advocates for the Braves coming here as are many of the downtown merchants.

Read about it... and the Braves wanting a huge area of our Park to accommodate 10,000 people.  Their stadium at Disney has a 9,500 capacity.

Is everyone NUTS?

Who paid for this dinner? Were Commissioners Mcvoy and Maier aware of this meeting?
10,000 people. They really are nuts. 10,000 people cant make it to that area. 10,000 people? Do they want all of john prince park? The old AG Holley Hospital site has already been slated for thousands of new residents. All aboard Florida plans to run 40 more trains per day. Throw environmentally sensitive lands and endangered species,a four year college(Palm beach State College ), JFK Hospital, and an air port with student pilots right next door to this proposed boondoggle into the mix. These people really are nuts.

Yeah, they're friggin' rich nuts with a majority commission that has already made the deal. It's called money, and it trumps everything else in government here. Now I'm sad that I bought a home here, even though I love my home. At least when they take over the beach I can drive up to Jupiter once a week or so. I had really thought this was a place I really wanted to call home. You know damn well it's already a done deal. The official word will just be announcing after the fact what has already been signed so it looks like it happened in the sunshine. I had thought Lake Worth was open to all. I wonder if our property values are going to plummet if we decide to sell.
