I was very surprised to see how many guns there are out there. I don't think ISIS has a prayer in this country. :) Unless they just come out of the woodwork.
The key words in this comparison are "...closest number of registered firearms....". I would speculate that there are possibly three or four times that count in weapons being held by the citizens of the US. Japan did not attack the mainland of the US in WWII because they understood that there would be a gun behind every tree. Same applies today as gun owners such as myself might eventually be made to give up our registered firearms, but we will continue to have an arsenal at our disposal hidden in a shed, and enough ammunition to make life miserable to anyone attacking this country or our family. We are a gun society and thank God for that as it will keep us all safe.
I have 2 registered when I bought them years ago... And 6 unregistered! And it will stay that way! Along with plenty of ammo for all. It would be a very bad idea to break into my house, I say forget about the dogs, beware of owners.
