Benny's on the beach should clean up their crap that blows everywhere. Food, paper products etc. Last time I was there I had all kinds of stuff flying over the railing onto me.

The real pollution is all fishing line that fisherman cut when it gets tangled around underwater structures. Very hazardous to divers to get rid of the mess, but also deadly to sea turtles who get their flippers caught up and ensnarled and can drown. Thanks for posting this event, I'll be diving, and I hope many will join us

As a prior Lake Worth Beach Lifeguard I use to dive this Pier regularly. There is an unbelievable amount of fishing line and debris accumulating daily. Which is destroying the reef, as well as hurting the sea creatures that dwell there. Last year we bagged up I believe over 100 pounds of trash from under the pier alone. Even a poor Sea Turtle was tangled up in fishing line towards the end of the pier, thankfully we were able to set it free. Wet Pleasures Diver Center has an in depth informational safety brief prior to the dive and we dive in teams. They not only set the tone for a fun day for all to enjoy but we as volunteers are able to have such a profound impact in restoring our beloved Lake Worth Beach & Pier to its closest natural state. I encourage all to attend, for I will be volunteering as a Scuba Diver.

Thanks very much, Nicholas. I never can get over all these people who have no respect for the planet as well as all its living creatures.
