The start of the Florida Legislature session for the new year started yesterday and West Palm Beach Commissioner Shanon Materio is in Tallahassee to see if she can get money for her Chain of Lakes project on the south end of West Palm Beach adjacent to the Lake Worth line.
She is asking for $286,000 in state dollars that will link county waterways and believes that the plans that are underway
could prove a boon for everything from fishing to eco-tourism and would
yield higher property values.
