Poll worker errors "disenfranchised" 14 voters, said yesterday's Palm Beach Post article. One poll worker has been fired but we don't know if it was only because of an error in filling out the outer envelope or telling voters that "everyone is voting for the bond." What happened at the Oasis polling precinct? Where were the other precincts that had problems and what were they? I had read in an earlier report that there were a few voters who put down the WRONG PARTY AFFILIATION. Don't people know their Party? It's like, gee today I love Allen West and tomorrow I am supporting Bernie Sanders? Nothing is surprising in Lake Worth.
I know that a lot of people vote early and hundreds vote by absentee. Personally I like to vote on the day of the election and drop my completed ballot in the box to ensure that it got counted. I have always been cognizant of possible human error when I let go of my ballot or mail it in.
There were only two incidents at my precinct and by 8:30 I got to vote. Sometimes you just have to have a little patience when new equipment is involved. Everyone had the opportunity to vote. No one was disenfranchised.
When you are speculating on disenfranchisement and possible mishaps from a piece of equipment or a new system as we had on August 26th,
then the cause could be human error. Human error has to be quantified and it is more specific than just a mistake. It may also be incorrect installation
or a manufacturing defect or a slew of other possibilities. Rarely do we get an unqualified poll worker but humans make mistakes. We had 3,115 votes cast and only 30 provisional ballots were cast with 14 rejected because of poll worker error. That's a low margin of error. The Supervisor of Elections had this equipment malfunction corrected by 8:30. Don't we, too, have to take responsibility for our vote?

To me the election process and the Bond are two separate issues.
First, why are we buying new equipment for just about every election. Supervisor says this will help streamline process, but it seems to just cause more trouble. And its expensive, who pays for this new equipment every election - we do.
Second, yes to personal responsibility. You should know where to vote, the fact that people were trying to vote at polling places closed 4 years ago is telling. Either the supervisor of election is not communicating polling place updates or people are not paying attention. Look up your polling place, look at your sample ballot, which also provides information on polling place. I actually prefer voting early b/c if there is a problem it can be addressed prior to the actual election day.
As for the City, the fact that there were election problems is, to me, a serious issue. But the City should not be involved, the City has no standing to object on behalf of an individual voter or get involved otherwise. To do so tells me how biased the City leaders were in favor of the bond, which was more than obvious from the misleading presentations and the mailers that left out pertinent information (like how the bond would be paid for and who would pay).
Extremely NASTY politics by people who went against their word. But now seeing them in action for going on 3 years, nothing surprises me. It was one of their first BAD DECISIONS.
If ghetto goldie was swift boated like you say and couldn't campaign because of a broken leg like you say why didn't she run against Andy this time? She seemed to be walking fine last time I saw her and defeating the bond would have been a perfect platform. Could it have been because she knows she had as good a chance of winning as you have being seen as a decent person. ZERO. And you'll never get over the fact that firing Stanton was the best thing to happen to Lake Worth in 20 years.
Commissioner Golden is and has been fighting a very serious medical disease.

Election errors and election process is flawed. Many states are worse than FL. I have always believed your best effort is be informed and vote at the poll. Even with that.....you just never really will know if it did.
