Eric Holder now involved in Lake Worth?

Comment Up

Eric Holder
Now we're really getting on the map and here we believed it was just voter disenfranchisement.

Jack Scarola who used to be a prosecutor and now is a defense lawyer, has asked the Attorney General, Eric Holder, to investigate the PBSO for what he says is a militaristic approach to its duties and racial prejudice towards minorities.  Didn't Cpt. Silva go to Quantico for training? Scarola is  particularly upset about the PBSO's alleged abuse of the Guatemalan community which represents 13% of  Lake Worth's population.

In Lake Worth, 29.5% of people are of Hispanic or Latino origin up to 39.6 % from another demographics site with only 56% of the people speaking English in our city-- and there lies the rub.

Augusto Garcia of Lake Worth called the PBSO when two people were trying to break into his car.  They showed on the scene and treated Garcia like he was the criminal by knocking him to the ground and handcuffing him.  Scarola blames the lack of communication on the Sheriff's office dealing with a percentage of our population that does not speak nor understand English. He thinks we should have more minorities as deputies. I don't follow that reasoning as all officers are sworn to uphold the laws and people need to follow police instructions. A requisite for citizenship is to learn English. But those living in the shadows who come and live in our country illegally and/or don't assimilate or understand our laws or culture or language set themselves up to be preyed upon or even the police acting more aggressively.

One of our citizens, Mr. Timm literally had a gun to his back during the whine and Bitc$ session put on by Mayor Pam Triolo Fri before last at city hall.Mayor Pam Triolo ALLOWED this to happen. According to the cop, no one told him to come forward. It was just a "gut feeling". REALLY ?! A GUT FEELING? So now, what is the criteria for American citizens to have an armed law enforcement officer stand behind them as they try to communicate with their "representatives" at the dais? A "gut feeling"? Mr. Timm was not using profanity. He was not acting in a threatening manor. Apparently, his only crime was that Mayor Pam Triolo did not like what he was trying to say to her.So now, if the cop at the meeting has a "GUT FEELING" about you , watch out! Maybe Eric Holder is investigating the wrong thing in Lake Worth. Maybe he needs to drop by a city commission meeting. Whenever the Commission and Mayor feel like having one, that is.

If Mr. Timm literally had a gun to his back at a city commission meeting it would have made front page headlines across the country. The people that read this load of crap blog are about as dumb as I've ever seen in my long life.

This is a ploy from the attorney representing his client against PBSO . He wouldn't be calling for Holder to investigate if not for the Ferguson incident being all over the news.

Anonymous at 9:52 you are showing your ignorance once again. You must be the loud mouth at city commission meetings who never shuts the hell up.

It seems like the police here in the city treat all of us like hell. They do not respect the public nor think we know anything, treat us like dummies. It starts at the top with the capt. talking down to citizens like we are not intelligent or have a mind or opinion. The air of superiority from police is horrible here, even at our NA meetings when they come, talking down and being condescending often times. The police make citizens who bring issues to them look like the bad guy, make them feel guilty as if they are complaining and complainers are "bad." If people didn't care about the city and issues, they would not go to the people in charge. Lynn, Mr. Timm, a lot of us care, and that is why we speak out, go to meetings and bring issues to the city leaders. We need city leaders to recognize this and react appropriately, not turn it on the good citizens here. It is a good thing that Eric Holder is coming here to investigate this, all people here deserve respect, we are human, we are educated, and we have good opinions and suggestions for making our area better as we live here. The police just work here and most avoid the trouble areas in this city until they are called to come and deal with issues, they need to be present more and they need to respect and treat people normally. The police today seem really out of touch with normally citizens. Yesterday on Meet the Press they had Bernie Saunders on who wants to run for president in 2016, he seems really in touch with concerns people have today in the USA. The police need to be among us more, not above us. Listening and caring, respecting the public. Why is it that so many public servants these days treat the public so badly, bad attitudes? The police will never get the respect they deserve until they start giving it.

Regardless of your position on immigration, we do want the immigrant population to feel comfortable calling the police, otherwise we create a situation where we have a population that is a ready victim to crime (since the criminals will figure out that they won't call police). 10 or so years ago, this was a real problem in our city with the Guatemalans being regular victims of crime, primarily robbery since they didn't use banks and didn't call the police.

I think situation, via a lot of outreach, has improved. We don't want to encourage criminals to come to our City so we need to make sure everyone can call the police.

This is honestly unbelievable, PBSO is a well respected organization and our own District 14. Has reached out to our minority communities, collected supplies and taken aid to the very needy in Haiti....this is nothing more than another political escapade in stupidity. Has for the poster who claims they are. All rude I would have to wonder what you have to cause an officer of the law to be rude to you. I have several family members that work in Law Enforcement, they are good people doing good things for the people they serve but no matter what you status is in life if you do not obey the law you get what you deserve.

Sincerely,

Robert Waples

Once again lies being spewed as if they are facts. Since 2010, when Genesis Neighborhood Associaiton was formally created and incorporated, we have worked closely on so many community improvement projects that PBSO's Community Policing Deputies have been a part of that I have lost count and they have all been assistiing minorities. They have helped me clean up seniors yards even on their days off. They were the ONLY law enforcement agency who organized TWO charitable relief trips to Haiti without a dime of tax payer monies. They purchased their own tickets and used vacation days! I edited days worth of footage of them donating police cars, rice, beans, whistles, cots, portable surgical tables, whistles, medical supplies, bulltet proof vests and other law enforcement equipment. A total of over $80,000.00 in donations and they risked their lives distributing it themselves at the tent camps to avoid the donations being stolen like so many other donations had been. This lawyer is a scumbag but then again I have yet to meet a lawyer with true integrity, strongs morals and practicing ethical behavior. I have coordinated multimple meetings with Benito Gaspar and some of our deputies right in my Mom's dining room table. They came to address victims of crime who were too afraid to go to the station. This is just as nauseating as when Pantygoat Sucker tried to turn the Community Relations Board into a group that attempted to do the same thing, disparage our District #14 officers. There was an incident I witnessed one evening on a weekend where a Guatemlan woman was verbally disrespected. I was on the phone with Captain Silva the next morning and he followed up with me and informed me the officers were NOT from our district they were from a traffic task force put together from officers from one of our northern neighboring municipalities. He made sure it was addressed appropriately. This is disgusting that an ambulance chaser would stoop so low and slander some amazing stars that we are blessed enough to have at District #14. As my lunch was served today I received a visit from Captain Silva and Lt. Moss at my room at JFK hospital as this gay, latin male waits for Wednesday when I get open heart surgery. Wow they are just so terrible to the latin community .... BULLSHIT! There is a Spanish speaking PBSO Citizens Academy that will be staring soon. I received and email months ago asking me to recruit any willing participants. This sleezy lawyer embodies that joke about "100 lawyers at the bottom of the ocean..." Look what lawyers have done to our country in Congress/House. This lawyer's picture shows up in the dictionary when you look up bottom feeder.

Unlawyerly yours,
