We will now get to yap longer
Tonight, Resolution 26-2017 will be voted on to allow the public to speak, changing the time limit for public comment from two minutes to three minutes during Public Participation of Non-Agendaed items.
I remember how irritated I was when years ago Jeff Clemens changed it from three minutes to two but now am used to it. There are times when two minutes are two minutes too long for some people..
However, since the city is putting more and more items on the Consent Agenda (16 on this agenda), it seems fair to increase the amount of time for the public to speak. As Katie would say, "we are your bosses" and elected officials really need to listen to what we have to say.

Thanks for the update, Lynn. Even Peggy Fisher and I agree that we the people are the bosses of these elected officials! Now if we can just get the three minute time limit onto the OTHER side of the dais!!!Katie
3 minute limit for the Commissioners- great idea Katie!
This will show respect for the public, their bosses and benefactors.
