Rick Scott declared Algae emergency

Comment Up

"As bad as the massive algae bloom on the Treasure Coast is now, sometime in the coming days or weeks or months, it’s going to die. And when it does, the impact on flora and fauna will make the current disaster look like a tipped bait bucket by comparison."

Read about this disaster... by Eliot Kleinberg now in two counties.

God,this is so tragic. And it could have been avoided if the people we elected would have done what we told them to do. But look at our county Commission. Look at the majority on our own Lake Worth Commission. Growth Whores. Whores with no regard to anything other than developer money.Disgusting.

Over development absolutely can be a major cause.

St Lucie County has banned the use of fertilizers on weekends, if the report is correct.

All the fertilizer and pesticides we use go somewhere, don't they? More development=more chemicals (nutrients)
