Quote of the Day - Vice Mayor Scott Maxwell

Comment Up

"There are folks out there that are concerned, but I think they are clearly in the minority," said Lake Worth City Commissioner Scott Maxwell. "I think it's premature for any of us to get excited about what the site will look like and the impacts. It's going to have to wait until we see the plan. The plan hasn't been unveiled yet."

~ Scott Maxwell

Read the article... on the Atlanta Braves wanting to build a stadium with John Prince Park still in consideration, by them, the county and local politicians.

Scott has always been a punk of the first order right along with the other two who voted for this.

We do not want them here in our park! We need it for us,there is nature for us to enjoy!
What is the real reason behind this, just say it out loud,it will come to light! Who are you mr. Scott in the first place to even think of this !
If you let this come to our park, you will have sleepless nights ,a lot if them! If you have anything between your ears!
You do not use the park yourself, and you do not play yourself
How much money are you and your buddies making out of this deal? We are watching you,all of you!
Listen to us ,the people of Lake Worth, the people, who are using the park!

He's under false assumptions. We don't need to see a plan. We know what they want. 100 acres and us to pay for the development that will include a dorm for their players and ruin our environment for a commercial enterprise. Sick.

What I sent the reporter
Ms.Layden,my name is Kathleen McGiveron. I am the president of the ROLO neighborhood association here in the city of Lake Worth/ Palm Beach county.Mr. Maxwell is supposed to be my district one Commissioner here in Lake Worth. He has NEVER talked to our board or our residents about this issue.John Prince Park is a PUBLIC PARK ! It is not a vacant piece of surplus property! NEVER in my wildest dreams did I think that I would have to be defending a public park against being destroyed for the benefit of billionaire ball club owners!Ms Layden, let me tell you how the game is played in Palm Beach County. This is not representative government. It is a sick ,incestuous fraternity that acts without the knowledge or permission of the residents.Lake Worth Commissioner Maxwell approaches a member of the council in a neighboring town. A resolution to support a baseball stadium in John Prince park is put on the meeting agenda, often with no notice and at the last minute. Then with no studies,no discussion ,the resolution is passed. Then Maxwell can say "Look at all of these towns who support this !" It looks good on paper and for reporters like you to report. No disrespect intended ,Ms. Layden. Please go to the John Prince Park Preservation face book page. Baseball stadiums are a losing proposition for the tax payers that have to fund them ! "The Braves Play Taxpayers Better than They play Baseball " by Bloomberg news is a must read! Once John Prince Park is gone, it's gone. Thank you ,please feel free to contact me. Even take a ride over here to see just what would be destroyed by this lunacy.Katie Mcgiveron

Yeah, old Scottie boy is hanging out for that million dollar finders fee. He's working hard for it, laying up his strategic moves for his signature move of giving away public property to his donors and cronies. Why is he saying wait till you see the plans?? So it will already be a done deal conducted behind closed doors like the ITN was. Yeah, wait and see how fast he wants to pull another fast one. And note in the article that Collier County is also talking about that one cent tax increase. Makes me wonder if the Braves also dictate tax policy as part of their railroading program--

Delaying for the sales tax vote, yet another reason to vote against that one. Braves will be looking for that sales tax money as they line their pockets with our tax dollars to support their billion dollar ball club. You'd think with a billion dollars they could afford to build their own stadium.
