The Truth and the Light - Lake Worth's election

Comment Up

Lake Worth is "not normal" says a writer. This has to be, without a shadow of a doubt, the strangest blog I have ever read in years.  It appears here on Blackman's site.

One of Blackman's hypotheses is that all Gays vote for Gays, not the individual person. That's the same thing as saying, all black people vote for black people..or all women vote for women...We all know that is not true. Because the Human Rights Council Voters Alliance endorsed Szerdi and not Maier,  his reasoning for stating that Lake Worth is "not normal." This is faulty conjecture.  The Human Rights Council says that it endorses someone who supports LGBT initiatives and privacy rights. Endorsements of candidates are made upon consideration of:
How a candidate has voted on LGBT issues
How a candidate has supported the Palm Beach County LGBT Community
Mr.  Maier has no proven track record on LGBT issues but one would logically surmise that he certainly supports them. Endorsements are also political.

Next he says that the election was about "politics."  Well, no kidding.  It was a POLITICAL election. That's what it is--POLITICAL.  People vote for people they like and people they trust until they prove themselves otherwise. That happened with Szerdi. They don't want to vote for people who obviously don't care about them or their wallet or who they feel does not truly care about our city but cares more about developer and special interests.

Th writer believes that there is a "far left" that has made Lake Worth its headquarters.  A handful of socialists live in our community.  Another handful are "tree huggers" and care about our environment.  Blackman suggests that these people are here to undermine our city.  This is an unproven allegation and an assumption based on the writer's fantasy. It's really laughable. We have many more far right residents here who are registered Republicans.  You can take that statement to the bank.

We got our candidates to the polls by calling them on the phone and asking for their vote.  It had nothing to do with "fear," something that seems to be your problem for writing what you did. I know first-hand that Maier and McVoy supporters did not BAD-MOUTH their opponents, something that their opponents can't say themselves. As FDR said, the only thing we have to fear is fear itself.

No one has ever "enlisted" this blogger to fight for truth and democracy and our city--no one.  I have been writing this blog since September 2008 and my principles have never wavered.  I support conservative values  and approaches in government, living within our means, and can't stand bullies who refuse to listen to the people they serve. To me, it is amazing that many Republicans here supported candidates who want development at any cost, even wanting the taxpayer to pick up $11million or whatever amount they can get away with in infrastructure costs at the Park of Commerce, not to mention higher taxes.

The writer ends her/his piece by stating They enlist the Lynn Andersons' (there is ONLY ONE, a registered Democrat), The Dennis Dorseys' (there is ONLY ONE, a registered Republican) and Suzanne Squires' (there is ONLY ONE, who used to be a registered Republican, now a Libertarian) of the community. How bizarre, how bizarre."

What is bizarre, is that the writer can't face the truth.  All of those who helped in this election have recognized over years, the total lack of transparency and the bully tactics that are too numerous to mention from this commission.

What is desperately needed in Lake Worth is a broad majority who are re-engaged and who see their own self-interest as inextricably linked to the interest of others who live here...candidates who actually want to hear from their constituents. I always say, let the best man win. It doesn't always happen but the truth and the light eventually prevail. This time it did. And there's nothing bizarre about that.

OMG all the gays should vote for gays! Dangerous! You open the way for the 'next group' to 'take over'. No checks and balances.

Yep - I'm the strangest political bedfellow. I'll fight for freedom wherever the need is.

These people do not attend meetings and if they do they are ok w/the bullies because most have 'granted by elected' power and
bully too! They lost and are trying to find any reason to justify or explain their massive loss!

Yep - we FEAR this dais and the unauthorized power they think they have! I'm thrilled so many
aren't gonna drink their kool aid!

I personally think that many of their 'team' felt like us and obviously voted differently than they were 'instructed' to vote. I could imagine how they felt being lied to and then not able to have the conversation or ask questions - just go along to get along! UGH!

I do know what is planned - I fought them on some of the same issues. Difference is they listen! Plus I've learned so much from the
love and inclusion they show! Love changed me - not fear although I have a fear of too much power for anyone. That is possible w/one more rep on the dais because THIS dais set it up that way - to 'take over all power'!

This is really special (re-post)from Szerdi's Campaign Manager and the CHAIRMAN of the cities Historical (Hysterical) Board he created in his own image. God help anyone that has to go before him. How is this NOT an ethical conflict of interest and why does the DAIS know about it an allow his horrible harmful behavior continue?

Please provide truthful examples of total lack of transparency and the bully tactics that are too numerous to mention from this commission. We want to know.

I suggest that you start attending commission meetings where you will experience it all first-hand.

Uhhh,11:52, just look at Hamburger Boy's(Scot Maxwell) RANT at the people posted up on the right of Lynn's blog!!!! A servant of the people talks like that to us,his boss?????

My wife and I have been a couple of times last year and didn't see what you claim.
We saw a commission that wants to help our city become a better place.

Lynn Anderson said...

Below sent by anonymous--I deleted the resident's name that you had in your comment. Please don't go after citizens here--elected officials, ok.

( aka weetha peebull) you acted stupid at a commission meeting and was thrown out by PBSO. So you are sour grapes and make up fear tactics because your(SIC)the bully here. Go look in the mirror.

The anony poster at 12:10 said he and his wife attended a couple of meetings last year and thinks this is enough info to make a judgment call on these commissioners and what they are doing? You have to be kidding, sir.

Weetha Peebull said...

I may have re-acted to 'stupid' from the dais but I HAVE NEVER been thrown out by PBSO (or anyone else) at any meeting EVER!

I have walked out on my own many times because of stupid from the dais. Show us the MINUTES or VIDEO from the meeting you claim I was thrown out of.

The rules of procedure state the Mayor would've recessed the meeting FIRST, then instruct PBSO to 'walk' the person out. That 'fact' would've been written into the minutes but it isn't there because it NEVER HAPPENED!

The Truth is, you and you're cohorts lied lied lied, tell the truth Lynn. Ryan is going to be the laughing stock of Lake Worth, and you will be defending him, and calling everyone a Bully. That is of course if he takes his ethics training, and he show up. Expect to see Cara there emailing him what to say.

#1 Mcvoyhappened upon the meeting, you said he was invited.
# 2 Ryan is a member of he Sister City Board ( this is a joke just check the record.)
# 3. The Only transparency Ryan knows about, is the top coat of his nail polish.

And before you say I am gay bashing, I am gay. If I want a man, that is what I want, not a man pretending to be something he is not, aka Ryan.

Lynn Anderson said...

Use your name the next time you want to post vicious crap over here.
McVoy WAS INVITED to attend the meeting at the glasshouse by someone he knows who lives in that building. You are calling me a liar? You don't want to believe that? Your choice.

And you're gay...well la de da. Stop the vicious crap. See you at the Gay parade making an azz out of yourself.

You LOST. Get over it and stop the personal attacks.

Anonymous said...

I may have lost, well la te da. At least I lost being honest, not a liar like you and your friend. And check the Post McVoy said he was out campaigning, and happened upon the meeting, so know I guess he is a lair just like you.

Lynn Anderson said...

This is the LAST time I will answer someone such as yourself. Yes, he WAS out campaigning and knocked on the door of a constituent who told him about the meeting and invited him to attend.

GET IT YET?

We really need to thank the NAPC for the last debate. Ryan flustered Szerdi - with the truth & unscripted question/answers threw him for a loop!

Can any of you consider for a second that your 'team' may be the minority? Look at the last 3 votes and the money and 'tactics' used to win - and didn't!

Anonymous said...

anony at 2:55. The only liar in this campaign was you. You were pathetic and that's why you were trounced. Couldn't happen to a more deserving liar. One less bully we will have to deal with. Go to your father's church. You failed Sunday school 101.

Anonymous said...

Weehee the only hing I saw at the debate was Ryan thumbing through his Orange Folder lookin for all the answers provided By the Cabal.

Lynn Anderson said...

Anyone engaged in public speaking uses notes unless you are Marco Rubio who does not need them.
Obama uses a teleprompter.
Ryan did a great job at all of the debates. Don't you agree, anonymous at 3:19?

Your candidates lost by an overwhelming majority.
Un-elected Commissioner Szerdi was again un-elected because the voters recognized him as pompous, arrogant, and incompetent.
Treacherous Serge Jerome "worked" for Commissioner McVoy to learn the ropes and then turned against him.
He had no experience and a negative agenda. He apparently gave a Delray address when he applied for his marriage license and rented a place here in order to run for the gravy train side of Lake Worth politics.

You lost BIG TIME so stop whining like your sore loser Szerdi in yesterday's paper.

Anonymous said...

We will never stop and be lazy again and let you win again. Next year we have a plan. Tune in. Lake Worth is never going backwards again.

Anonymous said...

Backwards? Stop believing your own hype and lies.

At least be accurate in the source of the comments you are quoting. An individual who signed as "Anonymous" left the comments on another post on Mr. Blackman's blog. They are not Mr. Blackman's comments as you seem to imply. Remember transparency and truth.

Weetha Peebull said...

I find it funny when I see comments about how 1/2 the town (50%) dislike you - If they KNOW that many people, why couldn't they get 25% of the 50% to vote Szerdi & Serge?

Ya can't have it both ways - but thanks for proving our point - the election was a HUGE 'stiff rebuke'

Also the (made up)% is a total lie!

Tell us again who lies?

Lynn Anderson said...

@5:33 Yeh, that's what Blackman said but he posted it on his front page, agreeing with it obviously.
Truth does matter. That is something he used to say.

Anonymous said...

Blackman also posted comments from Rand Hoch, of the Palm Beach County Human Rights Council critical of EQFL's blind endorsement of Maier over John Szerdi simply because he is gay.

The Point of the original comment had to do with the PBCHRC endorsement of Szerdi over Maier.

In the comments, Szerdi was endorsed because of his 100% favorable voting record when dealing with LGBT issues. Maier, in his interview, said that Lake Worth is NOT a gay friendly city????? Then Hoch lists all the reasons we are very gay friendly. It was an observation.

So the new comer, political novice Hair Dresser/ Female impersonator/ dancer wins his first time out over a world renowned environmental architect.

Only in Lake Worth.

Lynn Anderson said...

The Human Rights people more than likely took that remark of Maier's out of context IF he said it. We all know that LW is gay friendly. Maier knows it's gay friendly but Gays have to endure a lot in life even in a city that IS "gay friendly."

So, Ryan Maier, who is a college graduate, owns his own business and has rental property in the city and owns a house, won this election WITHOUT the Human Rights Council endorsement over an architect who works for Hudson Holdings, guys who desire a long term lease on our beach to "expand."

Can't beat that with a stick!

Anonymous said...

Good or bad, like it or not, these guys are now our elected representatives and lw will get what it asked for. I will stay tuned to see who is right about the direction the city follows over the next 2 years.

Lynn Anderson said...

Well, I have never seen a minority have ANY clout. The present commission has treated McVoy like dirt. Let's hope this commission does not screw up our beach property or our Olympic pool or go around the vote of the people on downtown heights.
