Kids aren't learning as much today. In fact, they are clueless about our Founding Fathers and all our wonderful history. Civics is not taught much. Ever watch Watters World? OMG. They are not taught anything prior to 1865 and our history is lost. Reading, writing and arithmetic, forget about it. Creative writing, what's that?
A Federal effort to seize control of education, Common Core, is nothing more than Agenda 21. It is nothing more than socialized education.
Katie McGiveron says, "When two and two don't equal four, I don't like Common Core."
Sen. John Legg, R-Lutz, wants to reduce standardized
testing in Florida -- and he’s filed a bill in the Senate to make it
happen. I remember when I was in school. We had tests all of the time. How else would a teacher know if we were learning anything? We had three hours of homework every night. Kids today don't even bring home a book...except for the really smart kids, one of whom is Katie McGiveron's daughter who is in the top 10 in her class at Forest Hill and just got a $2,000 a semester scholarship to the college of her choice. When talking to one of the seniors there about students in general, the statement made was "Boy are they dumb."
Last year, SB 1316 died in the Senate which essentially tried to prohibit the State Board of Education from continuing to implement the Common Core standards until certain requirements were met.
Last year, SB 1316 died in the Senate which essentially tried to prohibit the State Board of Education from continuing to implement the Common Core standards until certain requirements were met.
On Monday, Legg filed SB 616. According to Sunshine News, this bill would offer flexibility to school districts that are struggling with the transition
to Common Core which is socialized education. If passed, Legg’s bill would limit the amount of time a school district
can administer standardized tests to its students. Under the bill, a
district may not schedule more than 5 percent of total school hours to
give tests. If the district requires more than 5 percent of school hours
to administer the tests, it must get written consent from parents
before giving the test.
Can you even imagine that--permission from parents for little Johnnie and Suzie to be subjected to more tests? Poor little kids...some parents have said their kids are under emotional stress from taking so many tests and have to take medication--that they no longer like going to school. Well why would they? They are being tested to see if they are learning anything and don't want to be known as stupid. It's no wonder they aren't passing but you wouldn't know that if you looked at the school grade stats.

I do not believe they can just vote themselves out because they TOOK Race to the Top (bottom really) GRANT MONEY!
I saw the backup that was slipped through in the summer time and caught a few really disturbing things - like registering people to VOTE! (not just registering themselves but others as well). So there's a bit of twisted civics for you!
