The Lies of Government may be cranking up all over again!!!
This crash needs to be deemed a disaster that FEMA and the federal government will need to protect the citizens from---not just water piped to homes for drinking and bathing, but also irrigation water, water for livestock, and water for cleaning….All of this needs to be replaced immediately, and meanwhile, people are at a catastrophic risk as they wait to hear about borehole results of chemicals leaching into the aquifer.
Vinyl Chloride (VC) is a proven human carcinogen and a major risk factor in many contaminated aquifers. When present, above the maximum concentration level (MCL) of 2 ppb, sites are unable to close and require continued remediation and monitoring.
The Great Miami Buried Valley Aquifer lies beneath the Ohio River. Contamination of the Ohio River will contaminate the Aquifer. There will be a strong interchange between the river and this aquifer. This Aquifer is the sole source of drinking water for the city of Dayton. Cincinnati also draws from it.
Boreholes will need to be drilled all along the area in the vicinity of the crash and will need to be monitored for the presence of Vinyl Chloride and the other toxic chemicals spilled in the tragic crash. If or when the toxic chemicals make their way to the aquifer, it will no longer be fit to serve as drinking water until lengthy mitigation techniques manage to remove the toxic chemicals. This may occur, but will not in the near term of months or maybe years.

Years ago they had to derailment in elberton Georgia the ground is still contaminated and so are the wells look it up if you don't believe me the railroad brought all this land and you can't build on it you can't live on it they have all these pipes sticking out of the ground to get the methane gas and all the chemicals out they burn it 24 hours a day

And yet another defining failure of the Biden Whitehouse...A federal emergency response should have occurred with 24 hours - with FEMA wandering in 2 weeks late, it is clear that our socialist leaders care a great deal about FEAR AND COMPLIANCE, but care very little about actually protecting the working people of America. As the toxic poisons slowly leach through the ground beneath the river and end up in the aquifer , destroying the future of millions of people, see this as a metaphor for the poisonous effects of the Biden Whitehouse, as it's actions are destroying America's culture, resources and future.

I used to think of the rails as a path to romance and adventure, now, I think of them as a path to death and destruction.

I always wanted to buy railroad stock but couldn't afford it. Now, I am glad I don't have railroad stock, as my conscience would dictate that I get rid of it.

We are very close to the freight train here. That is not a warm and fuzzy feeling. Florida East Coast, which I believe is now a Mexican owned company, seems to do as little as possible to keep the tracks in good repair.

Flagler built them. That's a long time ago now.

While I am happy to blame the Biden Administration for many things, the railroads have been deteriorating for years, and years.

Senator, and Governor Arlen Spector was a big fan of the railroads but was denied funding for them many years ago. After all, why spend money on it, if you can make billions, without investing in operating costs.

Were the railroads always political? This transcends any party politics. Marco Rubio is finally going to try to help the people in East Palestine, but that will not prevent future crashes.

We have a lot of work to do in this country. So far, we have been depending on these creeps that we elect to take care of things, but when have we actually heard them talk specifically about fixing some particular thing.

Infrastructure: a very broad term that boils down to doing nothing for four more years.

I agree with you that the railroad infrastructure is something that "we the people" need to drive as a major issue so that bureaucratic incontinence won't mire it with so many other false promises.
Here in South Florida we should take this tragedy in Ohio as a Cautionary Tale. And no this is not Biden's fault that the accident occurred...but it is his fault that a swift federal response failed to materialize, and that many downstream from him were allowed to ignore this tragedy and pretend there was no real safety issue. This has become more proof that the present administration will lie and claim that science is behind their actions..or inactions.

Unfortunately, the Republican Governor Mike Dewine made a very poor showing, as well as the new Senator, also a Republican, until Marco Rubio gave him a push.

The present administration is laughable, and only interested in supporting its proxy war in Ukraine.

I think our Governor, would have been on top of this, and I'm sure he is paying attention.

DeWine I agree with your comment. He should have showed up. J.D. Vance, disagree. He was there pointing out the contaminants in the water...more than what Biden did.
