Lake Worth, FL - At 10:58 PM on June 20, 2018, an equipment failure at the point of delivery for Lake Worth Electric Utility’s external power supply caused a system wide outage affecting all of our customers. Lake Worth personnel immediately initiated the power restoration process, called in all available personnel, and began the process of making repairs.  The City’s Power Plant was brought on line at 11:40 PM to provide power and by 1:05 AM our System Operations team began restoring power to customers throughout the service territory.  Power restoration progressed through the night with all customers being restored to service by 6:15 AM.

The cause of the equipment failure has yet to be determined but the incident will be investigated fully to understand the cause of the equipment failure. Lake Worth Electric Utilities would like to thank all customers for their patience and understanding during this event.

During the electric outage the City's internal computer network server suffered a fault which disabled all phone and email access for City employees. Once power was restored staff worked to repair the fault and the system was restored at 12:55 PM on June 21, 2018.

Okay what I don't get-If the problem was "at a point of delivery" then why did the team have to move throughout the entire city slowly restoring power? Wouldn't they just have to fix the problem at the point of delivery?
