Everyone is getting a raise--even the magistrate at 8.7%--but city employees still are waiting for their 4%.
EXECUTIVE BRIEF TITLE:
Resolution No. 60-2015 - an agreement with Diane James-Bigot for Special Magistrate Services to increase the hourly rate from $165/per hour to $190/per hour.

this is a hearing where everyone who comes before her is guilty.
This is the person that is giving the house away at the hearings, granting extensions, forgiving fines, siding with the worse offenders, cracking jokes, laughing, having a good time all the way to the bank! While the employees again get slapped in the face! Lake Worth is a joke, run by fools and idiots keeping the citizens and employees down.
Whaaaat.... This woman is a hypocrite..she owns a run down property in the city.
@4:07...don't think, but not sure that she owns any property here. She is from Boynton Beach.
Why we got ticked at the King and Declared our Independence:
"He has made judges dependent on his will alone,
for the tenure of their offices, and the amount
and payment of their salaries."
PLUS -
"He has erected a multitude of new offices,
and sent hither swarms of officers to harass our people,
and eat out their substance."
Everytime the code department brings people before her ive noticed that the officers present a time allotment to fix the problem & fine and she ALWAYS gives 10X's longer times and lower fines... No wonder this city looks like crap! Everyone wants to blame code but maybe they should look at her, she has the final say. Doesn't she understand if code brings a case to her they've already have had time to fix their issue and havent? She's just as worthless as the CM. Gut the code dept? How about firing her & find a real judge replacement! Also the employees have STILL NOT recieved their measly 4% raise yet without retro, great way to inspire our employees! No wonder this city keeps losing people...
If she does own property and its run down that would explain why she goes SUPER EASY on all the violators that the code officers bring to court.
The city blatantly doesnt care about the employees... Only the higher ups... This isnt any new news its only been umm 8 years since the employees have seen a even a penny more and still the one time the commision approves a raise the CM & his squad impose a stipulatory contract to halt it. Go figure
Well this explains alot. So is our code department to blame or the judge overseeing their cases?
Welcome to Lake Worth :) Shady deals, undeservable raises, vagrants prostitutes & drug addicts welcome. So tell me again how ALL the people getting raises deserves them?
Im a former employee. I worked for Lake Worth for 7 years and recently resigned via good terms on paper bc its never a good idea to burn a reference bridge. I could have voiced the truth of whats going on but in the end nothing would have changed just like all thats going on now. None of it matters sadly enough its just time to move on. The CM the City continues to care less and less about the employees and public as long as their wallets are padded thats all that matters. Really a 8.7 raise to a magestrate thats there 1 day a month but for the men and women working day in and day out nothing.. A 4% raise in itself after 8 years is insulting and to not even get it is even more reason to leave. I absolutely loved the people i worked with, they werent just coworkers but family. Truth is why devote more time to a company that doesnt care about the workers. Theres no future for long term employment in Lake Worth just a quick here n go job. Now i work for a company that as far as I can tell genuinely cares to have and in return I want to do extra for them. Mark my words you will see more and more people leaving Lake Worth until only the bottom of the barrel workforce is left. If you want quality employees you need to pay them a competive salary with incentives which the City knows but dont care... I feel for the people left hoping this City turns around but day after day I dont see coming. A 4% raise is a joke and to lie cheat and for the City to finagle their way out of granting it is even more a reason to jump ship outta Lake Worth.
Makes perfect sense no wonder she drags court out to pad her own wallet while practically letting anyone who speaks agaisnt the code officers off easy. Slumlords stick with Slumloards! She fits in perfectly with the crooks in city hall.
Let me ask you, staff above--what do you think about 4 commissioners and the CM going off to Nashville for a 4 day trip and spending thousands for a grand ole time? Just curious.
Lynn,
Im 2:24, a former employee. I think its expected. The CM, commisioners & department heads are all self serving. They dont care about public opionion until election time or when it hits their wallets. I can tell you that ALL the employees are fed up with this City. 8 years and finally a pathetic 4% raise gets approved and they Reject it??? Yet their so ready to get vote in and accept a raise for themselves which is ALOT more than 4%. The job board in city hall says it all... Everyone's resigning. Why work for a place that doesnt have your best interests in mind?
Who is to blame for blight in this City. I'd say its Code, the Magistrate, the Commission and staff, as well as slumlords and complacent neighbors, etc. No one seems to care at all about any of it. City says it wants to increase property values but does little to nothing to address code issues.
What I am finding is this--
Where I live, as an example, there are a lot of snowbirds who own here and use it as a vacation rental. They do NOT take an interest in this community and what we are finding is, beside inept boards of directors, an "I don't care" attitude...just keep the condo fees small.
Next, out city has a lot of absentee owners from snowbirds to landlords who have the same attitude. Now we're getting more sober houses and rehab facilities. Then there is the third World element that NO one will ever talk about.
There is way too much APATHY in Lake Worth and those of us who live here year round are having to put up with something we can't do much about. And slowly we see the city turning to a place for which it will be impossible to recover.
Three Commissioners have given up on residential property owners and are concentrating on commercial and industrial development/ownership as the city's salvation.
