In 1915 the city bought the property for the cemetery, but the first recorded burial wasn't until July of 1923.

What do we do in a cemetary cleanup?
With great respect, we do some weeding, and trimming, and clearing of overgrown areas. Basically whats needed, until the town sorts out the contract with the people that are supposed to be maintaining the area. They need our help as citizens and neighbors right now.
Now that is dis-respectful. Dont we have any city employees anymore?
No Police Dept., No Fire Dept.,No garbage collection, and probably more. Cripes, pretty soon we will contract out our Commissioners and Mayor.
This is an effort that is produced only from neighborhood association members wanting to work together to make a small improvement in an area that could really use it. It will be a fun day for all of us to come together with one goal in mind to improve the appearance of Pinecrest Cemetery and clean up the headstones that need a little TLC. I look forward to seeing you all there. :-) Lynn thank you for posting the event information.
