Stockton, California is about to File Chapter 9. The Unions did them in. Will Lake Worth eventually follow suit or will we be taxed to the max with the commission having to dream up special assessments afterall? Our city commissions have never had a handle on Union pensions and benefits and have never been pro-active in negotiations for the health of our city. We had one city manager who tried and they fired her. Even when the commission has chances to eliminate union labor, they don't.
It is believed that our beach redevelopment will bring in the much needed dollars to Lake Worth as will the Snook Island Development and people will invest in our city. However, the union pension problem is expected to grow and grow and grow.
Read about how Unions were directly responsible for the failure of a city.
