The facts about Unemployment Figures

Comment Up

Yesterday President Obama announced that the unemployment rate had fallen to 8.3.

"The truth is that unemployment is not really declining at all. The percentage of Americans that are working is not increasing. The civilian employment-population ratio dropped like a rock during 2008 and 2009 and it has held very steady since that time."

The fact is the economy is improving. There has been 22 straight months of job growth. If it wasn't for this President we would be in big trouble. 4 more years!

Since June 2009, the economy has added 1.4 million jobs, which is below the more than 2 million needed to keep up with population growth and far below the gains experienced at the same point in the previous 10 recoveries — which saw job gains average more than 4 million.

You do realize that the economy has added 2 million jobs in the last 6 months.

Try paying your bills based on minimum wage. Most of the new jobs are only paying this and only want to hire part time. For those of us who were in the construction trade it is a nightmare.

Both sides could argue their spin on "facts" until the cows come home. Ask yourselves-are you better or worse off now than when President Obama took office? What does the job market look like for anyone graduating from college? How are your investments doing? If you have a job,is your company growing, just hunkering down,or has it laid people off?Get your own facts ,people. Don't just drink the kool aid.
