Occupy Palm Beach

Comment Up
Occupy Palm Beach was just kicked out of the spot it took over on public property in West Palm Beach because a circus performer rented the space. The city just turned over a new spot to Occupiers--near the old city hall building.

One of the Occupiers and reader of this blog who denounces anything I write against liberals, occupiers in general or my chosen congressman, Allen West, says he is thrilled that the city has given them a new spot. Not only has the city of West Palm Beach given them a spot to occupy, it has given them running water, electricity from 5:30pm to 7:30am and keys to nearby bathroom facilities.

Now after all their complaints that some people have all of the wealth, they are still complaining. Why? The spot they have been designated to occupy is too small they say and they are afraid that no one will see them at this new location. Also they don't have enough room to pitch their tents. Instead of being satisfied with all that West Palm Beach has afforded them, they want the entire surrounding area.

Raymond D. Trombino; Green Valley, Ariz in USA Today speaking of occupiers in general says, "These people are all cut from the same cloth. They all share two common goals. First, they want something for nothing. Second, they are willing to break the law pushing for their demands. They do not represent middle America. Rather, they represent the "entitlement class" that wants equal outcomes without equal effort, and they want no repercussions for their illegal actions."

In the case of Occupy Palm Beach, "free" isn't even good enough.

Occupy PBCo. appreciates WPB's commitment to the First Amendment. Our cost to the city is minimal. The benefit we offer in terms of enhanced public debate is priceless. We welcome anyone who cares to visit the occupation site and discuss the issues of the day in a civil manner.

Those who wish to slander and mis-characterize the movement are free to do so. The dogs bark; the caravan moves on.

Then what, WHAT exactly is your message???

Anon at 5:18 - I don't think 10 of you have enough brain cells left to actually know what you want. Don't mean to be rude, but just saw a video on YouTube with a contingent from our area, knocking on Congressman West's door - Cara at the head, and complaining that while they didn't call for an appt, and decided to make a stir by showing up at his door, 30 perhaps, 'demanding', one at a time to see him, that they think is 'demonstrating' to the public that West is abominable.
Seriously?
Because Congressmen have all day to sit around, waiting for Cara, etal, to pop by.
I get it, you guys want to make a stink...but what do you want? Really.

We want the nation to have a serious discussion about how and why it is that wealth and power are so grotesquely misapportioned, how that is degrading our democracy and what can be done about it.

Unless the top 1% got their money dishonestly, what about coming up with a solution such as working for a living and living within that salary. That would be a start. Start saving instead of boozing it away. Stop the credit card debt. Be responsible people.

A lot of us feel the game is rigged. So, people may get their money "honestly" within a system that is fundamentally dishonest.
And please stop slandering the honest, sober, hardworking, responsible people who get the short end of the stick in a game that's fixed.
