Man stabbed to death

Comment Up
It could be worse; we could be in Miami. Man stabbed to death after asking neighbor to turn down his music...probably Jingle Bell Rock.

This happened in the poorer part of town in public housing called Liberty Square. Taxpayers are subsidizing these people and we here in Lake Worth keep on attracting poor folks to buy affordable housing with interest free mortgages. Sounds like a plan--maybe a conspiracy--ask the CRA. Maybe someone knows something that I don't. Prosperity and all that jazz.

I couldn't help myself.

Lynn, its a strange world we live in and hard to figure out why things are the way they are. Some people are smarter, some are luckier, some never seem to learn and make the same mistakes over and over. Why? In most cases its hard to figure out. Us humans are different individuals and think differently. I havent asked for a handout but because of the times in my senior years, things have become bad financially. Maybe George Bailey will help me out. Its a Wonderful Life, isnt it.

Anonymous above, I am in the bottom of the 99%. I am retired and poorer than dirt when it comes to money, that is. I wasn't lucky enough to make mass fortunes when I was younger, being a mortal woman had something to do with that but I always tried to do the best job I could. Striving for perfection and a work ethic unmatched by anyone who came before me helped me always be employed even during the recession of the 80's when I took 3 jobs one year that I hated while I was looking for a good job so as not to live on unemployment. I never got a retirement pension so I have little sympathy with those who complain about their Union benefits not being big enough.

We all do think differently. Perhaps it is our upbringing. I don't know. Maybe it is just our own uniqueness that allows us to move on and do the best that we can whether we are poor or wealthy, the 99% or the 1%.

But it is a wonderful life and today at Christmas I have a heavy heart thinking of all my family who are no longer here. I miss them all a lot. My Mom always told me that I would be ok. She was right. Christmas is about family and my immediate family are all about gone.

If you hold dear to all your principals and be as fair as you can and as honest as you can, you will be ok. Sometimes you have to ask for help. There is nothing wrong with that. People don't always know when you might need a friend to give a helping hand. And they will be pleased that you asked.

Merry Christmas.

I really enjoyed the story of Jess Santamaria giving back. It just shows that the rich do a lot for others.

I knew there was a reason I liked you. No pension fund here, just a strong work ethic. Right or wrong at least you take a stand.

Used the wrong spelling of the word principle above but I think you got my drift. Is everyone having a wonderful X'mas Day?
