Potential Casino Hours

Comment Up
Realizing that the City Manager and the Assistant City Manager want Johnny Longboats to close operations at whatever time they so choose in our new Casino, the following is in error. It is definitely not my recollection and no where on the audio do I find Staff's backup description below to be correct. As this is a voting meeting on Tuesday, December 6, it is important that it be correct.

At the November 21, 2011, Lake Worth City Commission Workshop, the City Commission requested an item be placed on the December 6th Commission meeting agenda to determine the Casino Building’s operating hours. The draft minutes from the November 21st meeting reflect consensus to schedule the hours of operations for food service establishments from 6:00am to 11:00pm as the last call for food, 11:30pm as the last call for drinks, and everyone vacating the premises by 1:00am during the weekends and 12:00am during the weekdays.

There were supposed to be two closing time options with Johnny Longboats to open at 6am. Listen to Audio at around 2:05. Click on November 21 audio.

Option A: closing at 11pm during the week and 12am on the weekends.
Option B: closing at 12am during the week and 1am on the weekends.

If anyone knows differently, please comment.

How can you tell if Lake Worth city staff is lying to you? Their lips are moving.

YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY CORRECT! The Dec. 6th meeting is to choose between ‘Either’ & ‘Or’. The only consensus was to decide between those two options! LET US SPEAK UP!!!

Maybe this particular instance is not a ‘lie’. Thank you Lynn for reading the back up and the heads up!!

I was amazed when I read this in the backup for the Dec. 6th meeting. I agree that the Commission specified the two options you listed with nothing about time for last calls. This is just another example of the City Manager and staff doing what they want regardless of the direction provided to them. The Commission establishes policy, not Stanton or her staff. Until the City Manager accepts this FACT, nothing will change.

It was Snitkin and his big boss who mentioend "last calls." Of course, they would prefer to just stay open without any hassle. I love the way that staff is now discounting the importance of turtles on our beach.
