"Amid rampant corruption in Kiev and as US troops gather at the Ukrainian border, does the Biden administration have an endgame to the conflict?The Ukraine government, headed by Volodymyr Zelensky, has been using American taxpayers’ funds to pay dearly for the vitally needed diesel fuel that is keeping the Ukrainian army on the move in its war with Russia. It is unknown how much the Zelensky government is paying per gallon for the fuel, but the Pentagon was paying as much as $400 per gallon to transport gasoline from a port in Pakistan, via truck or parachute, into Afghanistan during the decades-long American war there.
What also is unknown is that Zelensky has been buying the fuel from Russia, the country with which it, and Washington, are at war, and the Ukrainian president and many in his entourage have been skimming untold millions from the American dollars earmarked for diesel fuel payments. One estimate by analysts from the Central Intelligence Agency put the embezzled funds at $400 million last year, at least; another expert compared the level of corruption in Kiev as approaching that of the Afghan war, “although there will be no professional audit reports emerging from the Ukraine.”
“Zelensky’s been buying discount diesel from the Russians,” one knowledgeable American intelligence official told me. “And who’s paying for the gas and oil? We are. Putin and his oligarchs are making millions” on it. We are being played.

So much news out there to choose from and you select to blog about reporting that smears a country in a war against Russia.
Most Putin sympathizers are too young to remember the Cold War days. You lived them, Lynn, and still you choose to hold hands with Russia because it gives you another blog entry in which you can criticize a Democratic administration.
It's always been politics over country with you...and so it will always be. It's so bad, if you blogged that Timothy McVeigh actually had some good ideas, I wouldn't be surprised in the least.

NO one is sympathizing with Putin. He invaded a sovereign country.

And both Democrats and Republicans are to blame for feeding a corrupt country at the expense of the United States and its citizens. We are possibly paying over 90% of the costs there.

Is the Ukrainian Mafia more Ethical and closer to American cultural values than the Russian Mafia?
To imagine that either Russia or Ukraine are deserving of American monetary support, is basically to believe that the Bidens were not paid millions to sell out America.

Ukraine got rid of that guy...former prime minister or something like that. It seems, after reading about it, in May 2017, Yanukovych was tried in absentia for high treason and abetting Russian aggression against Ukraine. The trial included testimony from several senior Ukrainian officials, including Pres. Petro Poroshenko, and Yanukovych’s lawyers attempted to characterize the prosecution as a politically motivated stunt by Poroshenko’s administration. Poroshenko, in turn, painted Yanukovych as an instigator of “Russia’s hybrid war against Ukraine.” In January 2019 Yanukovych was found guilty of high treason and was sentenced to 13 years in prison.
Eventually Zelenskyy was in power to rid Ukraine, supposedly, of the corruption. Ukraine is just as corrupt today as it was pre Yanukovych. Why anyone believes any of the reports coming from Ukraine or Russia is a mystery. All corrupt.
What you don't understand, 5:45, is that the US hates Russia. That kind of hatred can only be inspired by envy. Russians are smarter than we are. You know nothing about history, and you have never read a Russian book. You don't even know that Ukrainians are basically Russian, and that the main irritant between them is Poland.
Poland is a Roman Catholic Country, and Russia belongs to the Orthodox Faith. Similar, but not similar enough to stop them from killing one another.
And then, there is Poland, who never saw a little disagreement that they didn't want to turn into a World War.
Who killed more Jews? Poland or Ukraine? It's a tossup.

One country is responsible for the Holocaust and the death of millions of Jews and that’s Germany, end of story!
There are no “Polish Death Camps”, they were all built and run by Nazi Germany after they invaded and destroyed their neighbors.
World War 2 was started by Germany and russia, Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact was to carve up Eastern Europe with the promise that the 2 wouldn’t attack each other.
Statista is an excellent Research site, but real research needs to be read properly. There will be people that glance at the chart and then believe they just saw that Poland, as a country, killed the most Jewish people. This is NOT what the research in Statista is telling us....If you read MORE into the report, you will see that Germany had invaded Poland and had concentrated death camps in Poland, and so Germany KILLED more Jewish people in these Polish Camps than they did in the Camps on German soil. The Poles themselves were not the mass killers, this was the Fascists of Germany, directing it's military. And today the greatest Fascist threat in the world are the Fascists running the Democrat Party in America, these being Fascists pretending to be Democratic Socialists...as they did in 1930's and 1940's Germany. Key actions which identify Fascists in 1930's Germany and in Biden's America today: Control of the News Media / Removal of opposing opinions, either by "cancelling people" or worse / Destruction of opposing news media / No Freedom of Speeach / Use of Violence to scare the populace into compliance --- Brownshirts in 1930s and Antifa and BLM and others in Biden's Fascist America. I could write an entire paper on the Fascist similarities.
It showed how many were killed there...not that Poland killed them.
If the Russians were so fond of the Germans, how is it that they defeated them in Stalingrad, and drove them west, where they finished the Germans off in Berlin. Two Thirds of the German Army was in the East in the spring of 1945, and the Russians killed them all; man, woman and child. You could say they deserved it, but that is not the point. The point is that there was no love lost between the Germans and the Russians.
Don't waste your time defending Poland.
That's called Whitewashing History.
The Socialist party in Germany, around 1935 or so, formed an alliance with the Russians to fight the Fascists of Hitler's Germany. The Socialists in Germany and Spain at this time were more like MAGA Conservatives of today...the Conservatives of that period were foolishly hanging on to systems with land ownership by a tiny minority with no chance for the working class to do much beyond starvation. Their fight was a good fight.
The Russians were terrible allies to the Socialists, often killing them for convenience.
But the Russians became a major enemy of Fascist Germany.
The Fascists pretended to believe in Socialism and the workers, but it was one of many huge lies.
