On Wednesday, a federal judge appointed by Trump, tossed out a counterlawsuit from lawyer Sidney Powell that was levied against Dominion Voting Systems in an attempt by the Trump associate to fend off the massive defamation lawsuit against her.

U.S. District Judge Carl Nichols sided with Dominion Voting Systems in determining that her lawsuit failed to demonstrate that the company’s legal skirmish against her amounted to an “abuse of process.”

Citing the high CO2 emissions caused by the cremation process — which reportedly accounts for approximately 360,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide per year — the legislation will allow people the option of giving their remains over to a process known as natural organic reduction (NOR) if they choose not to be buried or cremated.

“The process involves placing the body inside a long, reusable steel container along with wood chips and flowers to aerate it – allowing microbes and bacteria to break down the remains,” according to reporting from the Daily Mail. “One month later, the remains will fully decompose and be turned into soil.”

The Catholic Church strongly opposes NOR, and argues that it was meant for livestock.

The law will not go into effect until 2027. Other states which have enacted similar legislation include Washington, Colorado and Oregon.

It was back in November 2021 that the mandate was issued by the Office of Head Start, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), and the Administration for Children and Families.

The mandate has two main requirements. One is that adult staff members working at Head Start facilities have to either get vaccinated against the coronavirus or, if exempt, undergo weekly testing. And, the other requirement is that, at these Head Start facilities, all staff members and all children ages two and older have to wear face masks.

On Wednesday, U.S. District Judge Terry A. Doughty made a ruling in the case, issuing a permanent injunction that affects 24 states, one of which is Florida.

Hawley asked Miller to explain a recent video post on Twitter about Anderson Air Force Base, in Guam who are reportedly forced to stop using pronouns on base. Hawley explained, "leaders there recently received an official email that prohibited them from using pronouns or descriptors like he/she, youngest/oldest, male or female, why is that? I mean what's going on?" Hawley questioned.

The judge designated as the special master in former President Donald Trump’s records case has proposed that a government official swear that the government properly listed items taken from Trump’s home in August.

U.S. District Judge Raymond Dearie, the special master, also left open the possibility of recommending the government be ordered to return some of the seized materials.

Dearie outlined the plan on Sept. 22, following an order that blocks him and Trump’s lawyers from accessing materials with classified markings that were taken from Trump’s home in Palm Beach, Florida.

If the plan is put into place, Trump would then respond with a list of any items listed by the government that were not seized from Mar-a-Lago.

New numbers coming out of Florida indicate that the era of Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis has been a magnet for the state’s Republican Party.

When comparing October 2018 state records to July 2022 state records, the Sunshine State has gone from 13,278,070 overall voters to 14,315,755 voters.

In that time, the number of non-affiliated voters rose from 3,549,094 to 3,905,562 — an increase of just over 10 percent. Democratic Party enrollment rose from 4,962,064 to 4,944,867 — which is an increase of only 17,197 people.

The 2022 numbers show the state with 5,191,018 Republicans. That means from the 2018 election until this summer, the Florida GOP added 509,420 people. That is an increase of roughly 10 percent.

Denver, Colorado has decided that they're going to try and do something to fix the problem of homelessness in the city by introducing a basic income program in which they are going to give approximately 140 homeless people in the city up to $1,000 per month.

But, but, but, here is the criteria to be able to get the $1,000! Incredible.

According to the news release, the cash will be given monthly to “140 women, transgender and gender non-confirming individuals, and families in shelters.” The release did not mention homeless men.

A release issued by the city said that the $2 million to fund the program was sourced from the American Rescue Plan Act, which was backed by President Joe Biden and Democrats. The plan, which totals nearly $2 trillion, was signed into law in March 2021.

Lake Worth woman has car stolen with 2 dogs inside while at a CVS in Delray Beach

Paige Gemmel lives in Lake Worth but swings by the CVS in Delray for necessities on the way to her kid's school pick-up. Around 3:30 p.m., she popped in for two minutes, which was just long enough for someone to steal her car with her dogs inside.

"I got to the front of the car and it was pulling out and I was so confused and I saw a guy in there and my dogs were just looking at me and I started banging on the car and he kept pulling out and dragging me a little bit," Gemmel said.

She said she left her car running in a Delray Beach CVS parking lot so her dogs could have air conditioning but a thief saw it as an opportunity and the idling Hyundai Santa Fe as his getaway.

"I'm really scared for my dogs… it's a 6-month-old Great Dane named Church he's big though, he's already over a hundred pounds and a Chihuahua named Henry and he's old. He's 12," Gemmel said. Henry has a heart condition and needs his medication. Church is still a puppy and needs to eat regularly. Her plea to the public is to keep their eyes open for the pups.

A Tallahassee circuit judge is letting a lawsuit against the “defund the police” provision in Florida’s anti-riot law move forward. Judge J. Lee Marsh of the 2nd Judicial Circuit on Tuesday allowed five of the eight cities that sued the state to continue their challenge against a provision that creates a pathway for the state to overrule a city’s decision to reduce its law enforcement budget. The three remaining cities will have an opportunity to appeal to be added to the case.

Gainesville, Lake Worth Beach, Lauderhill, Miramar, North Miami, North Miami Beach, Tallahassee and Wilton Manors sued DeSantis, Attorney General Ashley Moody and the state Administration Commission over the law, which the Legislature passed at the Republican Governor’s behest.

Marsh dismissed the case against Moody and determined that Lake Worth, North Miami and North Miami Beach had only expressed a “generalized chilling fear” and did not face a threat of harm.
