Rick Scott says "NO, don't want them." Obama says, "too bad." And Rick Scott just wants to be ensured there are no terrorists lurking around. Florida leads the country in refugee resettlement. Last year Florida took in about 49,000 refugees from around the world with 46,000 coming from Cuba with 34,313 residing in Dade County. If you travel around the state you will believe that EVERYONE is Spanish.
"Let’s find out what's going on before we proceed bringing in ten thousand refugees into America," Scott said. He also said that he hopes Congress won't allow federal tax dollars to be used to relocate these refugees in our country. That's all he can do is hope because it's up to Washington where these refugees will be resettled.
As of November 17 some of the Syrian refugees have been settled in states whose governors opposed the action. Such states include Florida (19), Arizona (14), Georgia (3), Idaho
(1), Illinois (6), Maryland (4), Michigan (10), New Jersey (11), and Ohio (7).
