West Palm Beach removes benches to help expunge Homeless

Comment Up

In the past few years, Alan Murphy, Jr., Pioneer Linens' store’s general manager, has noticed a disturbing trend on the city’s hippest street — more homeless people in front of his luxury shop, causing some customers to shun his 103-year-old business.  West Palm Beach is removing the benches.

Does this sound familiar? Maybe they will come down to Lake Worth since we took such a beating from them when benches and water fountains were removed from Bryant Park. Or maybe government can start solving the problem, which has become overwhelming, a lot due to addiction that is on the rise. But then you have a segment of the liberal population that supports legalizing marijuana that is a gateway drug.

Read more... about West Palm Beach.  And see what Miami is doing for free public bathrooms for the homeless.

LW invites all the homeless & prostitutes bc we are a excepting city. Come to lw all drug addicts too. Has anyone seen the homeless camp 24/7 in front of the library? I wont even take my kids to Bryant park anymore, its just bums asking for money and dirty needles by the playground. About 2 weeks ago I found one by the sawhorse.

To the person who just tried to comment here--No name calling please. If you want to comment on a specific person or something, give documented reference to it otherwise it won't be published. As I can't verify what you say is true, I will not publish it.

To the SAME poster--It is ok to call out elected officials and to have an opinion on them...they have a detailed and documented record.
Let's wait until after the Playhouse Forum before you start with the crap.

Sad that citizens can't have the convenience of benches, some repulsives were parked on them last time I went to Clematis. I have waited for the trolley and was glad for a bench although I wonder what was there before me.
