Democrats are "clever" folks and you have to follow the dots.
There are many more Democrats registered to vote in Palm Beach County than Republicans.
Registered Voters as of 10/19/2014
REP: 236,850
DEM: 368,672
Other:242,935
Total: 848,457
The Palm Beach County School board race is non-partisan but on Saturday Fact Check Florida electioneering Committee just made it partisan when it sent out a flyer endorsing a Democrat for District 4, the only run-off for PB County School Board.
It has collected $226,075.00 to date and has expended $220,550.96. The committee was formed in July 2013 and registered in Jacksonville. In October 2013, it failed to file a Treasury Report. Consequently it was fined $650.00. Now it seems this Committee has failed to file again. Matthew Martz is the chairperson with a 561 area code telephone number.
Scratch mine and I will definitely scratch yours--Martz, who is also listed on LinkedIn as an account executive at Mad Dog Mail, has ties to Cesar Fernandez, Rick Kriseman’s campaign manager who ran for mayor of St. Petersburg and won by 55% of the vote. This committee backed him. Both men worked on the campaign last year for state Sen. Jeff Clemens. Democrat Jeff Clemens has given money to one of the run-off candidates for PB County School Board, also a Democrat, along with his OWN Pac's contribution of $2,000. Most of our present commisison has also donated to this Democratic candidate.
Clemens' PAC, along with Jeremy Ring (D-Margagte) Committee for a Prosperous Florida, has received tens of thousands of dollars from Florida companies that operate Internet gambling cafés and from the Malaysia-based Genting Group, a global giant in the casino industry.

Way too much going into Whitfield's campaign that it has to make you sit up and take notice. probably clemens, once medical marijuana is voted it, will have it in dispensers in the school cafeterias.
I dont see any difference I who gets elected to a county school board. At the end of the day it's influence on my life is zero.
It's very interesting. Why would Jeff Clemens be pulling so hard for Erica Whitfield for school board?? Because he's a tool of the unions and she's agreed to be a tool too. The union doesn't care how crappy our schools are or how much our kids suffer. As long as teachers can pull down $80,000 a year plus killer retirement benefits working a part-time job that's all that matters. It's all about the money.
How do you know that, anonymous at 2:03. You may not have children in the system but schools cost taxpayers plenty of money. You need someone who has a keen sense of business as well.
To the guy above...graduating kids who don't know how to read, write or think means a huge underclass is being created -- one that will depend on food stamps that YOU will pay for, and scout around for houses to burglarize (like YOURS) because they are not employable. Really think you don't have skin in this game? Think again.
Do you ever wonder why for the past 20 years the finalists for the national spelling bee are from immigrant families? While you are obsessing about a minor political office they are obsessing about homework and which university they will chose.
The candidate for school board which you support in on a charter school board and his kid goes to a charter school as well. WTF, the WTF is something for you since that is something you can understand,
9:30--unless you are an American Indian, we ALL are from immigrant families. Your point?
There is no obsession over a "minor political office." If it were not important, then the Dem would not have raised over $46 thousand for her campaign. Someone(s) out there believe it to be very important.
@934..Tom Sutterfield's children go to different schools one of whom attends a charter school. One is at Dreyfoos and one in public school. He is a strong supporter of the public school system but believes in CHOICE. Isn't that the American way?
Lynn, there is a growing consensus that ancient Europeans had colonized what is now America BEFORE the ancestors of the present day Native Americans arrived here. Some drastic climactic event cause them to die out.Could it have been caused by carbon emissions from all of those ancient SUV's they must have been driving around?!? Or maybe they burned too much coal. Hmmmm
I think it was sea level rise...I'm being serious now.
