Good morning William,
I am trying to do my due diligence and understand the moving parts of parking related to WMODA. It’s a bit complicated. Could you please provide answers to the following questions?
I think you are already working on a previous request for parking information - please feel free to cut and paste any answers that would be duplicates.
I do understand that these information requests can involve some time and effort, but I am sure you agree that the elected body should make well-informed decisions.
Thanks,
Christopher
1. Will the parking requirements for the 110-unit apartment complex be completely satisfied with their subterranean garage, including parking for guests?
2. If the subterranean garage does not satisfy requirements, how many additional spaces would be needed and where would they be located?
3. Is the subterranean garage a guaranteed concept, both physically and in terms of approvals?
4. Will the subterranean garage have any extra spaces, above and beyond the requirements in (1) above?
5. Please share the formula staff is using to calculate parking requirements for the museum. Is it based on expected number of visitors or on square footage, or some combination? Please share the formula as applied for the specific case of this museum, showing the number of spaces that would be required.
6. Please indicate where all of the museum’s required spaces will be located? (I.e., location and number on-site, in the proposed K St garage, and/or anywhere else).
7. For the surface parking lots that will be affected by the WMODA projects, please list the current and post-project number of parking spaces.
8. For the parking garage please provide a table showing the total planned number of spaces in the K St garage, and how they will be assigned (e.g., unrestricted to public; restricted to museum goers, restricted to WMODA apartment residents or guests; any other restricts), and how each category will be paid (e.g., paid at time of use; pre-paid by museum; pre-paid by apartment; etc.)
Thanks again,
Christopher McVoy
