MSNBC ROASTED for Relentless Trump Bashing
“Saturday Night Live” launched its 2025 season with a scathing parody of MSNBC, delivering a ruthless critique of the network’s Trump-obsessed coverage through a masterfully crafted cold open that left no anchor unscathed. The sketch, which opened SNL’s first episode of 2025 with host Dave Chappelle and musical guest GloRilla, targeted MSNBC’s perceived hysteria surrounding President-elect Donald Trump’s second-term inauguration.
Cast member Sarah Sherman anchored the segment with an uncanny portrayal of Rachel Maddow, complete with the host’s signature close-cropped hairstyle and thick-rimmed glasses. Sherman’s Maddow set the tone immediately, warning fathers watching to “better hide their older, bookish-looking lesbian daughters” before introducing the panel, which she called “basically like ‘The Avengers’ for your aunt.”

Back in the mid 1970's SNL was so awesome that college students would make sure they could watch this on TV over being out at parties or nightclubs... Over the last couple decades SNL de-evolved ever further, to the low point during the Fascism of the Biden administration where they acted as a Propaganda vehicle for the state..... This NEW skit is a welcome change. Still not the great comedy show of the 70's, as there is no replacing John Belushi or Dan Akroyd or Bill Murray or Gilda Radner, Chevy Chase, Jane Curtin, or Laraine Newman---and clearly the producers in those days were giants , versus the dwarfs involved today....But at least this 1st show was not pandering to the left as it has for decades, and in fact, it is attacking the fake news media--something the original cast would have been thrilled to be involved with.
