We have an Emergency; We have an Invasion

Rand Paul reams McConnell over ‘criminal neglect’ of border: ‘We have an emergency, we have an invasion’

Senator Rand Paul (R-Ky.) took aim at fellow Kentuckian, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell for his prioritizing of funding for Ukraine’s war against Russia over more pressing matters at home, specifically the porous southern border.

After the so-called “border security” bill was met with fierce opposition by conservative Republicans, the sneaky octogenarian delivered the votes of 17 members of his caucus to Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) to advance a $95 million foreign aid package for Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan with the border provisions stripped out. It’s what some called out as a typical backstabbing move by McConnell and Paul isn’t happy about the betrayal.

“It’s criminal neglect for Mitch McConnell, Chuck Schumer, and Joe Biden to get together to send $100 billion overseas to fix someone else’s border before addressing our border,” Paul told host Larry Kudlow, not pulling any punches.

“His approval ratings in Kentucky are almost below zero. They are the lowest of any elected official in the United States. He is working with Biden and Schumer to funnel your money to Ukraine, but he’s not working with conservatives, so he is in the minority of his caucus,” Paul told Fox News host Laura Ingraham.
