Lake Worth made the wrong choice on allowing a medical marijuana dispensary to locate right across the street from a charter school, the Academy of Positive Learning.
The editor of the Palm Beach Post, Rick Christie, says, "There was indeed a choice: the city wanted either an A-rated public school at that location or a medical pot shop.
It looks like the city just made the wrong choice; which was to do nothing."

Blame Mayor Pam Triolo (who can't make it through a commission meeting without stopping for a "nicotine" break )for putting a pot shop before the well being of school children.
Blame Commissioners Scott Maxwell and Andy Amoroso.
Commissioners Hardy and Robinson were late to the party. But they are total weenies for not standing up for the people of Lake Worth.
The embarrassment and blame for this disgusting situation also lays squarely at the feet of employees William Waters and Mike Bornstein.
If you think that this pot shop was not planned to be in lake Worth YEARS ago,I need to sell you some shares in the Lake Worth bridge.A disgraced former state legislator and a convicted drug felon who owns businesses downtown were also key to the plan.
Again ,this CASH business was decided on years ago. The people of Lake Worth and the school children never had a chance.
Remember this when you cast your vote this coming year.
8:51pm thanks for the truth, we know the commission is corrupt but have no idea how sinister they are.
I hear a lot of "vote the bums out".well the only way that's going to happen is if we all get together and support the opposition liKe them or not,we have to stop this them against us if we want change.I AM VOTING FOR SARA AND DREW FOR CHANGE
I would like to see term limits. It is a discussion that we should have.
Who's gonna be the sacrificial white knight this election, senior citizens, trailer park people? The school against big, bad dope dispensery this round? Let the games and hysteria begin.
Number 1. this city doesn't care about senior citizens.
Number 2. I don't understand why they don't help those who live in the mobile home park off of Boutwell. Oh, that's right--they are senior citizens.
Number 3. As there is only about 14% seniors in this city, we have zero clout.
Number 4. Allowing a marijuana dispensary located within 100 yards of a school was pretty damn dumb. At least someone should have spoken up against it going there.
No hysteria--just annoyed with some of it. I think a good one would be them doubling their salaries and their $500 a month car allowance. Oh that's right, they work so hard for the city having meetings once a month, answering the phone --oh, that's right...they don't answer the phone--they have a secretary.
