Rob Lopicola still in Jail
Comment Up Read about former weatherman hunk who was fired from our local NBC affiliate a year ago and is rotting in jail. What happened to the 6th Amendment of a speedy trial?
The 6th Amendment of a speedy trial( a verdict found within 90 days) only works in favor of the defendant. In other words, the defendant can waive his/her right to a speedy trial which could lead to a case taking years (for instance the current zimmerman trial).
The prosecuting attorney cannot waive this right. It is more commonly waived so that the defense can prepare a better defense.
