Allen West and the Kid

Comment Up

The Democrats always bring up Allen West shooting a gun near a terrorist's head as something horrible. It was war, people. Murphy campaign adviser Eric Johnson told Roll Call that West should be wary about bringing up the past. “In 2003, West was charged by the military with assault and for violating the Uniform Code of Military Justice and was subsequently kicked out of the military,” Johnson said. “And he’s attacking Patrick Murphy for drinking as a teenager, which I think is a silly attack.”

The military decided against court-martialing West; he was fined for using improper interrogation tactics and retired soon after. LTC West accepted the judgment and retired with full benefits in the summer of 2004. Asked if he would act differently under similar circumstances again, West testified, "If it's about the lives of my soldiers at stake, I'd go through hell with a gasoline can." At his hearing, West pointed out that there were no further ambushes against American forces in Taji until he was relieved of his leadership post on October 4.

West already answered all these charges in his first election just a few years ago and now the Democrats with nothing else to fall back on (it certainly isn't Murphy's political record) other than West standing up and being a man, want to bring the military incident all up again. And since they are, West is simply comparing what he and Patrick Murphy were both doing in year 2003--a young kid, drunk and disorderly and verbally assaulting a police officer versus a mature adult getting prepared to go to war to save lives and keep America strong.

It's easy to figure out who is the stand-up guy.

Lynn the only reason you support West is to prove you are not a bigot LOL. I would not vote for him (West) if he was the only one running.
