Susan Stanton on her way to California

Comment Up

Susan Stanton heads for California tomorrow and will start her new position as city manager of Greenfield, California on October 30th, two weeks before her original start date. Knowing Susan, she has already learned much about the town, its people and the challenges ahead of her.

The mayor of Greenfield, California says, "Stanton rose to the top of Greenfield’s applicant pool because of her skills in labor negotiations and her success in attracting new cultural centers to Largo. “Communities across the nation are looking to raise revenues, and she did those things. Hiring her is a bold move, but it goes back to her experience and qualifications.”

Within one year they will no longer be the Lettuce Capital of the world... They will be growing Rutabaga, and they will be moving there from the hills....And I am not talking about Beverly Hills I am talking about the Smokey Mountains. Ever hear of Moon Shine???

Cute. Why would they do that when they are in the heart of wine country? The biggest problem there, as I see it, is illegal immigration and a vast percentage of people not speaking English. Moonshine is made out of cornmeal

Actually moonshine is made from potato and yeast goggle it if you do not belive me. If her only worry is people not speaking english, when she was sitting on her throne here in lake worth she was right in the heart of it.

She's not worried about it. I mentioned it to her and she said she would learn Spanish.
