Sorry, Hunter

Judge dismisses motions from Hunter Biden in criminal tax case

Earlier this year, Hunter Biden filed a slew of motions regarding the criminal tax charges brought against him by the Department of Justice (DOJ).

Yet in a move sure to disappoint the White House, all eight Biden's motions were denied this week by the judge overseeing his case.

This included the motion calling for Special Counsel David Weiss' dismissal on the grounds that his appointment was unlawful.

"The Court concludes that Special Counsel Weiss is lawfully funded through the indefinite appropriation, and the Appropriations Clause has not been violated," Scarsi wrote.

What's more, Scarsi concluded that there does not "seem to be any evidence" that federal prosecutors were influenced in their decisions by pressure from Republicans aside from the timeline involved.

Judge Mark Scarsi's decision

In an 82-page order, U.S. District Judge Mark Scarsi rejected all eight motions filed by Biden's legal team, which relied on various legal arguments in asking him to throw out the entire indictment or at least specific counts.
