LANDSLIDE for the developers in Lake Worth and big win for the County...no surprise. Only 17 out of 20 precincts (unless 3 were eliminated for this election) on the Supervisor of Elections website, but an overwhelming support for the City that just can't manage a thing. You got the emotional plea for the Gulfstream Hotel by developers backed by the City...Watch our beach go next.
"Residents approved a change to the city charter that will allow for leases of up to 30 years on city-owned property east of A1A. That’s
expected to give the city a better shot at landing a public-private
partnership to develop a “resort-style” pool facility or “aquatic
center” at the Lake Worth Casino complex and provide the long-term
commitment necessary to finance improvements at the popular Benny’s On
The Beach at the foot of the Lake Worth Pier." [PBPost]
