Dave Kerner files for Palm Beach County Commission District 3

Comment Up

Dave Kerner is a former Lake Worth police officer and special prosecutor and now represents District 87 as a state representative. He has decided to concentrate on Palm Beach County and is now running for Shelley Vana's seat that is term limited.

Dave says, "Through bipartisanship and consensus building, I have worked to help Florida attract new companies to our state and the Palm Beach County region. I understand that creating jobs for Florida’s families, we need to keep taxes low for small businesses and ensure Florida has top notch schools and healthcare."

I heard some rumor months ago that Scott wanted to run for that office. Then I heard it was Andy. Anything to these rumors?

Maxwell has filed with the LW City Clerk to run again for District 1. Have no idea what Andy is doing. I would imagine that the political Parties will have some say here as to whom they will support which could be a deterrent to some.

This young man has really stood out as a public servant. I work with human trafficking groups and somehow he has been able to move very important legislation through republican legislature. His entrance into county commission race was bittersweet for many of us who work with him on HT issues on the state level, but he has very broad support in district 3 and an unmatchable name ID with primary voters in south county and powerful fundraising ability. He was being courted to run for congress, but has said with a new marriage and not wanting to be a career politician, it made sense to run locally. Anyways, I hope (and presume) he wins, as we are lucky to have him. Thank you dave! -Lesley
