The Palm Beach County Chapter of Surfriders "stopped a bad beach fill project proposed for Reach 8 though litigation several years ago, now it's back and with as many environmental impacts as ever! The Chapter supports the Town of Palm Beach's proposal- an appropriate, moderate beach nourishment to protect the beach at Reach 8.
The Chapter is opposed to the County's proposal to use groins. Additionally, new civic groups are calling for even more beach fill and additional structures! The Palm Beach County Chapter is standing up to protect the unique habitat off their coast, including nearshore hardbottom and essential fish habitat."
