This city commission NEVER gives a report on its travel on taxpayer money nor do they ever explain what benefit it has for Lake Worth. They no longer have to explain as they made certain of that when pesky citizens were asking them. A Resolution ensured that they don't even have to get commission approval for the trip--just go and have a great time.
So, why would the city manager okay two "business-minded" commissioners' attendance at the November 2013 National League of Cities Conference in Seattle, Washington of all the places? It's not like it's next door. Why would Andy Amoroso even think to give a report to the citizens on this one? $495 for the conference registration, $1,615 for the hotel, flight, food, etc. for a total of $2,863.00. Scott Maxwell's hotel room was a little cheaper at $1,065.87--he attended also. Scott is the President of the Palm Beach County League and we can well understand why he would want to attend. But, for whose benefit? Two of them in Seattle and NOT even a one-liner report.
Congratulations are in order for Amoroso who is now a Vice President of the League's GLBTLO group, established in 1993. Its function and purpose is to encourage the active involvement and full participation of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender municipal officials and their supporters in NLC’s organization and programs.
It still doesn't explain the benefit to Lake Worth while it struggles with the expense of fixing potholes.

I'm a gay and he certainly did not encourage me to run for office here. IN FACT WHEN HE SEES ME HE RUNS THE OTHER WAY.
I guess you have never been to a conferece. If you had you would know there are several workshops going on at the
same time all with information that could benefit the city.
I guess no other commission took more than I person to
conference.
You certainly love to skim over points.
You had no complaints with the trips Suzanne took!
I knew someone would mention that. Mulvehill trips were ALL approved by the entire commission. We knew where she was going. We knew why. she gave reports on all of her trips.
