Our Constitution was signed on September 17, 1787.
PREAMBLE
We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.
We have had 33 amendments and one of the most important is the First Amendment:
Congress
shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or
prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of
speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to
assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
As a news reporter said to me, Free speech is protected by our Constitution and "political speech, (or writing) about elected officials, public affairs, etc. gets the highest level of protection because it is the most important." Recently, those protected rights were stepped on at our city chamber by the mayor and the commission. The Free Press Clause protects the right of individuals to express
themselves through publication and dissemination of information, ideas
and opinions without interference, constraint or even prosecution by the
government. We are able to publish information and opinions without government
interference.
Today the city leaders need to reflect on this day and the rights that we all have as well as working within their own rules of protocol without setting-up their opposition and allowing them to be subjected to a verbal public "lynching" in order to "get even."

A Commissioner that promised to uphold the Constitution said:
"Twelve people have to touch every project", and the NAPC leader explained "meaning that twelve different people from twelve different departments have to coordinate, communicate, reevaluate and finally cooperate to accomplish any worthwhile objective and that takes time."
Yeah right - that's ON PURPOSE!
They go on in complete ignorance of the 'law of the land' and the guarantee of a Representative government" Bypassing all but a small handful of people claiming they speak for us!

Yep - Part of the "Project Shut Up!" Does everyone realize the NAPC meetings ARE NOT OPEN TO THE PUBLIC TO ATTEND?

weetha ease up a little. the napc is not your enemy. they are just citizens who give a lot of themselves. they promote our city in so many ways. dinners, rafting, crimewatches, street painting volunteers, picnics, contests, and cleanups. either join them or leave them alone.
What part of they claim to speak for me didn't you get? They are unelected and pretty powerful! That is the problem! No checks and balances! Now about the public not being allowed to attend the NAPC meeting should be a huge problem for anyone who grasps the chain of authority!
If they left me alone and claimed 100 members out of 36,000 people decided they want....it would be a different story!
Did you hear the letter Mary Sent in support of John Prince Ball Park?!? Did you see how ROLO was thrown under the bus by this action!

Not true at all Weetha if you are a participating member of your neighborhood association your voice can be heard but if your so negative that you just stick your head in the ground because you have a preconceived notion of what the NAPC is about then your the one guilty of not understanding. Remember the NAPC got their asses handed to them over a ballpark and a gay marriage as they are NOT supposed to be political.
If anything Ms. Lindsey got her own ass handed to her and eat some humble pie. For everything that its worth the NAPC is a good organization and if the people in the neighborhoods don't participate then shame on them. They are part of the problem and not being part of the solution. The worst part are the NA's that charge dues so they cut out the rest of their membership....That is where there is an issue as not representing all the people in their NA's.

a bit to free to tell others what they should or shouldn't do! Go 'should' on someone else! The solution is ALREADY THERE in the Constitution's guaranteeing US all a representative form of government that is reflective of our individual wishes. This 'group think' you suggest is concerning and attempting to decide for me how, where & when I can 'be part of your solution' is not your job! Thanks for sharing!

Why do you care what I do if you can't understand me? I do not care what you think or say. It is an honor as well as my duty to do what I do, say what I say.
