LAKE WORTH
Ending 30 years of debate over what to do with the weathered casino building at Lake Worth Beach, the city broke ground in May on a $6 million renovation project. The new casino is on track to be substantially complete in April, when restaurants and shops are expected to begin building out their spaces. The renovated casino is scheduled to open to the public in October.

Personally I believe the top story was the firing of the city manager but I suppose city managers come and go with commissions. In Lake Worth it's every three years or so--and they want stability and sustainability? Our Casino will be here for at least another 50 years.Read the rest:

Lake Worth is Under New Management in 2012. Now we will finally find out how Stanton hid the true finacial condition of the city from both the public and the commission as the books are exposed and employyees are no longer afraid to speak. Fasten your seatbelts folks it's going to be a bumpy ride. Stanton is lucky she's gone. Oh, don't forget the plan is to blame Scott Maxwell for everything. Good job Lynn.

Let's have him give ALL of the reasons, right now, to explain--not 6 months down the road. After the fact, anyone can find anything to support an action but the accused is long gone and forgotten, a political victim by someone who played the game like an animal of prey waiting to strike at the opportune time.

I still don't understand how a budget could be approved that included an assessment for Street Lights in its numbers, when that assessment hasn't even been VOTED ON or PASSED yet???? How is that even legal?
The city manager presented her Budget with the special assessment included. If you recall, the garbage (Solid Waste) was to go up by $45. That too was in the Budget. It came before the Commission and was voted down.
You make a good point about putting the cart before the horse. Waterman was condemned during her campaign for voting to approve the Budget. This simple vote was used against her even though in the end she voted against the fire assessment. Scott Maxwell was the only one who voted against the budget... his normal vote for the past 2 years. It is an excellent political strategy.
Scott Maxwell is trying to kill this.
