Acting City Manager Steve Carr signed a modification to Mattey's contract Tuesday that will pay her $72,800 to work nearly three additional months, from March 4 through May 25, so says the Palm Beach Post. That is about $877 a day. I was wondering if a city manager can amend an existing executive employee contract and pay out unapproved and unbudgeted funds without commission approval?
I would like to understand the reasons for this and why the City feels that Clay Lindstrom could not have been acting Utilities Director after Mattey's normal two months' notice and until the city finds a permanent director.

Because that is what the former cm wants...she is still calling some of the shots...meeting with elected officials and communicating with margoles, car and mattey...
Only in lake worth...
The former CM has nothing to do with the City now. I suspected that you boobs would start blaming everything that happens in the future on her. It's sort of like Obama blaming everything, after three plus years, still on Bush. If Stanton had done this, she would have taken so much heat from Maxwell, Triolo and Amoroso. I can just hear it all now. Instead, we will get total acceptance from this regime.
Obama hasn't even been mentioning Bush lately. He's not looking back anymore he's looking ahead at a bright future. You should try it.
And if you don't think it was the republican policies that tanked the economy I have a beach front park to sell you. It's a good investment bars are going to stay open until 3 am there will be lots of people drinking & spending money. Maybe you can hire Scott Maxwell to run the beach front park for you.
Ok-Mr. Obama supporter--there's no talking to you.
Our beach will be closing at 1am. That was voted on. Where have you been? Still behind the times with envy of the 1%?
Why would I want to hire Scott Maxwell to run our beach allowing bars and drunks?
I am a conservative and as such don't go along with a Party doctrine just to go along.
Lynn, this money to burn thing really iritates me. Didn't Triolo say that she would reduce Utility Rates in her first 100 days and that the Fire Services Special Assessment would be eliminated?
Well we are at about 75 days and i don't see it happening.
You go to all the commission meetings. Am I wrong?
Politicians.
Perhaps you can try to call the Mayor and she will answer. Good luck.
The Mayor says that she still needs to tackle the fire assessment issue. The new commission, however, voted on the possibility of taxing you a fire and street light assessment in 2012.
Either my calendar is missing some days or AEJ is using a diffent way of counting. It has only been 58 days since November 14, 2011 when Mayor Triolo was sworn into office.
