City workers accused of lying Story by Peter Schaller

LAKE WORTH, Fla. - Hookers, drugs, booze, and filth.  That's what people in a Lake Worth neighborhood say a vacant property is attracting.  They're sick of it, and and insiders say problem properties like this are all over the city.  The city manager now promises CBS 12 News that dramatic changes are coming to the city's code department.

Yolanda Vazquez literally picks up her son at the bus stop,  she says she has to. "Its completely unsafe," she said. She says a property across the street in her Lake Worth neighborhood attracts all the wrong people. "A lot of vagrants, a lot of drunks, a lot of transient people," she said.

Sounds like how we all feel over here too, the corner of North D Street and Lucerne has the same problems, hookers, drug dealers, boozers, and blight and filth. The place is trashed again, and the city cleans it up and in a day or two trashed again, and these properties (1320 and 1306 Lucerne) are owned by a rich famous slum property owner. The sad thing about it all is that some say he is a volunteer to the city, a master of ceremonies, and even an ambassador to our city, how ironic and weird, more than anything his properties are abandoned, boarded up, and attract a lot of blight, druggies, hookers, and boozers hanging all over those properties making a lot of problems and crime for our neighborhood, kind of like how Yolanda feels over on A Street. Sounds like Chann. 12 news is doing a lot to expose all the ills of our city lately, people are left to turn to the media since the CM and elected officials and codes do nothing. Let's see if Mr. B really does anything, he is supposed to be an expert CM paid the big bucks, you would think he should be getting this city cleaned up better. The ambassador to the city should do his part too, what a disgrace. We all do our part, why can't they be responsible too?

Wait, what? You're not satisfied with the $135,000 pirate that the commission hired? Speak with your vote.

I agree with you, vote them out, the mayor and most comm. do not respond to emails or cries for help from citizens, they ignore us, not even taking into account that we care about our city and want a better place to live, our CM is supposed to be making this city better, but he doesn't he is not good about responding to citizens either. I agree, vote all of them out, then maybe they will learn that if they want to stay in, they need to have effective people running this city, the current CM is not taking care of the problems effectively, we now have more blight, crime, and code problems than ever before, the city looks like shit. We as citizens deserve better, vote out the bums or have them fire the CM or decrease his salary if he can't cut the mustard. Clean this city up!
