In response to Willie Howard's story on parking meters in downtown Lake Worth ("Downtown likely to get meters soon"):
During the 1980's, downtown Lake Worth was predominantly antique stores and only one place to eat - the M&M Cafeteria and Fountains department Store. Today we have 26 eateries on three blocks, great shopping, a vibrant Lake Worth Playhouse and interesting and awesome blues music at the Bamboo Room. If Lake Worth starts charging for parking, all of the hard work will be for naught. There are way too many other options that don't charge for parking. Let's stop the madness and end this discussion, for Lake Worth's sake.

Lynn's Little Bit of Trivia note: The Post is bending over backwards to publish Tom's letters to the editor in spite of the fact he sued the Post last year and won a settlement, amount and conditions unknown. Is publishing every single letter he writes part of the settlement? Tom says that he is going to run for Mayor this election cycle.

Lynn, your right i agree with him as well, Maybe we would be a great Mayor.. Let's give him a chance.
He did'nt do that bad of a job before. He does know downtown and the businesses
Do you and tom think that all Lake Worth has to offer is free parking? That people plan their free time or make dinner plans around a $4 charge for parking??
I think you're wrong. I've lived on a budget all my life and it's just not a consideration when I go out to eat or go downtown.
Well, talk to the average guy living in Lake Worth who DOES frequent the downtown, who REALLY does live on a budget--a very tight one, considering the average income here. If you want to cater to the tourist, that is another thing altogether. In fact, give the residents a decal.
