PBSO activist distributes fliers

Comment Up
Mary Lindsey

"Scott Maxwell and I covered Lake Avenue tonight with flyers announcing the Have a Voice in this Choice mtg on Saturday. The response from the businesses there was overwhelmingly positive. Lucerne and Dixie need to be covered tomorrow and we need people to cover key locations throughout the day like at Publix and the Post Office. And of course we need to get the neighborhoods covered. Please print as many of the flyers on your own as you can. I'm working to get more done from our local printers. We need a solid turnout Saturday of 200-250 people because we need 10 times that many to descend on City Hall when it's time for this vote."

We will still have the services of the PBSO even if we do not renew their contract. $3 million dollars is a lot of money people. This is a hot button issue that the doom and gloom people are using to make political trouble.

SOSA neighborhood sent out an email and said-- As you know, our area was a war zone prior to the Sheriff coming in. Public safety is our last resort … without that … we’ve got nothing. What family will move here with their kids? One of the biggest problems in our town is that we have too many rental homes. The only way to do away with all of these rentals is to bring homeowners in. But … how are we supposed to attract new upstanding citizens to purchase homes in our town if it's riddled with criminals and prostitutes? We have got to find a way to keep the PBSO in town.

Now tell me are we rid of criminals and prostitutes? Really? We have so much crime that it isn't funny. Get a better excuse for your insurrection and your willingness not even to negotiate millions of dollars. Idiot.

Lynn. The PEOPLE want to retain PBSO. Accept it!

I guess you know what all 35,000 people want in this city. Look--I could care less. The ONLY thing I expect from our elected officials is doing the right thing financially for this city. If it turns out to be PBSO, well great. If it is not financially feasible, then you will have to get over your obsession with it.

Why is it that Larry Macnamara, Annabeth Carson, you and few handful of other annointed citizens, you know the group that always speaks for "the people" are the only ones that know what "the people want"?
Have you gotten over your obsession with the $30 million dollar R.O. plant? You know that hole in the ground that hasn't produced anything? At least PBSO has provided positive results on the investment, even if you won't admit it.

It is impossible to respond to such a silly post and to someone so totally mis-informed.
