New apartments in Lake Worth Beach will be nearly entirely workforce housing
Workforce Housing is totally BS
There is nothing affordable about housing here in Palm Beach County or Lake Worth Beach. The only ones cashing in are the developers who are getting $13 million in bond money to build in Lake Worth Beach.
The project is just north of Lake Worth Road between Congress and Interstate 95.
City officials said it's been an empty plot of land for years.
The developer is the Richman Group and representatives say the project will feature one- and two-bedroom units.
They say with set-asides ranging from 80-110% of the area median income, that leaves workforce housing rents ranging as low as 1,462 to just over 2,411. What a crock!
The medium per capita income here is $28,939 and medium household income is $57,489 per Neighborhood Scout. Those below the Poverty rate is around 21.1% of the population.

Do you think they will be like the ones at LWR and Boutwell? Three stories and no elevator?
Getting more like Orwell and Dickens every day!
When are they going to build housing for people who can actually afford it? If you don't make enough money to afford housing, don't wait around for someone to give you a break...MOVE! GET OUT! We need more people with money who are the presentable types and speak english. If we stop lowering our standards to fit the poor people lifestyle, maybe they'll leave and the people coming down to FL from nice neighborhoods in NY can move in.
Dont be silly. People will afford these. Our government will give the illegals a rental increase. I challenge you to be on Lake Ave between A and H streets and watch what they are carrying, and how many kids they have. Regular Americans cannot afford that many kids.
Regular Americans don't have kids in the USA anymore, our population is declining and dying off, the illegals make up the increase that is why this government wants all of them here, consumerism for greedy capitalist. That is why LW has so much crime, any decent person would not want to live there, pure chaos and lawlessness.
Lake Worth isn't big enough to provide the amenities that the NICE PEOPLE you refer to demand.
Drive out west. Look at the schools, the hospitals, the size of the homes themselves.
This area is for old-hippies, and tourists.
@12:54--According to Neighborhood Scout, LWB population of over 65 is 14.2% and from 55 to 64 it is 10.3%
We have a lot of illegals living in our city who are not citizens and don't speak our language and many are not educated.
What is your point? We have no schools, so people looking to move here and raise children only move here, if they are back to earth types.
There are some lovely homes on J, K, L, and M Streets, but it costs thousands of dollars to make them lovely homes. They are 100 years old some of those houses.
It's true we have some affluent dog owners, but you are not going to buy here to raise children.
Schools are all bad in lwb, not enough resources for all the illegals. Are they still peeing all over the city like they used too?
