Wow, Lake Worth seems to have noticed their ill ways with the last election. 1 of 3 have been removed. Congrats to Mimi and Sarah. I hope their vision for Lake Worth is clean, drug-free, and fewer homeless camps.

Well at least Andy didn't make it maybe they can turn the city around I doubt it with all those rehab houses and the homeless are taking over and the refugees are coming now what are we going to do

Actually, Andy decided to run because of the homeless and the slum and blight getting worse over the last several years and the city headed towards bankruptcy..

Betty Resch received 48% percent of the vote while Andy Amoroso received 31%, but winning by less than 50% of the vote automatically triggers a runoff. Alex Cull received 14% and William Joseph 6%.

Why should lake Worth Beach be any different than anybody else going bankrupt we get all these bonds to get everything done just like every major city we need to think about the future infrastructure power gas water roads New York Chicago Denver Miami have all declared bankruptcy

I got a question with all these rehab houses and people can't pay they kicked them out what do you think's going to happen they have no money now they're homeless and they're living in lake Worth Beach because everybody told him to come to lake Worth Beach for these services and then when the money runs out they kick them out and now look what happens we have more rehab houses in the City of lake Worth Beach the most cities these people buying up old hotels these people buying up apartment buildings nobody wanted to stop them but look what happens

@11:42...and your point is??? We need to operate in the Black...PERIOD. And this happened under former city manager, Susan Stanton.

This is the problem with voting, and of course, the tyranny of the Majority.

The country, let alone the city, is no longer united enough for this 1 person, 1 vote system.

There should be a coalition, rather than one person calling the shots. Andy should have a voice in running the city, just as whomever actually reaches 50% or more.

Otherwise, half of the people are unhappy, and nothing gets done.

It's the same with the Federal Government!

Our form of government has outlived its' usefulness, and it's time for a change.

Our form of government has "outlived its usefulness?"
We have elections.
What would you rather see? A dictatorship? I am confused by your statement.
We have many city boards where citizens can volunteer and give input and their expertise. We have the NAPC that is involved.

You may be comfortable with it, but most are not. It is so obvious that our country doesn't work anymore that you would have to be blind not to see it.

I don't know the answer, but I think there is room enough for three countries here, or at least two.

@11:44, check with the federal government, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development that is providing the grants.

@3:13...the last I checked, this is the United States of America. The country works just fine...we just have too many socialists, communists and globalists here ruining it by the day.
Hopefully the leadership changes in November or we are doomed.

The city has gone downhill with Betty. I have several properties in Lake Worth, and truly feel she is doing a horrible job.

Meeting with her about a project, she said "white people are the root of evil" not knowing the husband is white, wife hispanic.

"People in large houses are just showing off", um, 10 bedroom house!!!

She doesn't know who is in the city, where they live, or what they do. Maybe she should forget the weed, and start thinking clearly.

Betty said that? WOW!

There was a facebook post about the Christmas Tree not being light and the Mayor responded that she would contact the city manager, shortly after the manager was fired. I thought it was strange that the mayor would call on the city manager to get the tree lights turned on? We’re paying someone 200,000 to keep an eye on the Christmas tree, what kind of delegation is is?

@9:21...staff reports to the city manager. It is her/his responsibility to ensure that all departments are doing their jobs efficiently.
